The battery life barely managing 5 hours no matter the task was a problem with the small battery however. The Acer Aspire V5-471P is an ideal machine for those who are looking at an entry-level Windows 8 machine with a touchscreen. Students are the first candidates that come to mind. At Rs. 39,139 we think it is a tad expensive specially considering an older processor and issues with the display and the battery life. Under Rs. 35,000 this would make for a good purchase if you can overlook its issues. We would really like it if they bundled an Ivy Bridge generation chip. If you want to run heavier applications then you should probably look at Core i5 version of this laptop.

Acer: 1976 gegründet, ist Acer einer der internationalen Hersteller mit den meisten Marktanteilen weltweit und den meisten getesteten Notebook-Modellen im deutsch- und englischsprachigen Raum. Nach eigenen Angaben ist das Unternehmen "drittgrößter Anbieter auf dem PC-Weltmarkt und auf Position zwei im Notebook-Segment mit dem schnellsten Wachstum unter den Top fünf der Weltrangliste". Der Konzern ist zusammengeschlossen mit Gateway Inc. und Packard Bell. Acer beschäftigt weltweit 5.000 Mitarbeiter. Im Jahr 2007 realisierter Umsatz: 14,07 Mrd. US$. Acer ist nach Angaben des Marktforschers IDC (Q2 2008) mit 9,9 % Marktanteil der weltweit drittgrößte Hersteller von Personal Computern (HP 18,9 %, Dell 16,4 %, Lenovo 7,5 %, Apple 5,7%).
Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen. Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics: Intel HD Graphics oder GMA HD genannte onboard Grafikkarte welche im Package der Core i3/i5/i7 Arrandale Dual-Core Prozessoren untergebracht wird. Je nach Prozessormodell maximal mit 500 bis 766 MHz getaktet (Turbo Boost). Von Lenovo anscheinend auch GMA5700MHD genannt. Die gleichgenannte Intel HD Graphics Prozessorgrafik in den Sandy Bridge Prozessoren basiert auf einer neueren Architektur.
Intel HD Graphics 2000: In den Sandy Bridge Prozessoren (Core ix-2xxx) von Intel integrierte Grafikkarte. Die HD 2000 ist die schwächere, GT1 genannte, Variante mit 6 statt 12 Execution Units (EUs).
Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 620M: Erhältlich als 40nm oder 28nm Fermi Chip der unteren Mittelklasse. Die 28nm Version besitzt keine eigenen Displayausgänge (nur für Optimus Notebooks gedacht). Die Leistung entspricht ziemlich genau der GeForce GT 525M.
Intel HD Graphics 4000: In Ivy Bridge Prozessoren (3. Generation Core) integrierte Grafikkarte in höchster Ausbaustufe. Je nach Prozessor (ULV bis Desktop Quad-Core) unterschiedlich getaktet.
AMD Radeon HD 7600G: In AMD Trinity Prozessoren (z.B. ULV-A8) integrierte Grafikkarte ohne eigenen Grafikspeicher in höchster Ausbaustufe. Basiert auf der VLIW4 Architektur der 6900er Desktop Serie.
AMD Radeon HD 7500G: In AMD Trinity Prozessoren (z.B. ULV-A6) integrierte Grafikkarte ohne eigenen Grafikspeicher.
NVIDIA GeForce 710M: 28nm Fermi Chip der unteren Mittelklasse und taktgesteigerte Variante der GT 620M.
Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.
Intel HD Graphics 3000: In Sandy Bridge Prozessoren (Core ix-2xxx) integrierte Grafikkarte von Intel. Stärkere GT2 genannte Version mit 12 Execution Units (EUs). Je nach Modell mit unterschiedlichen Taktraten (350-650MHz) und TurboBoost Unterstützung (900-1350MHz).
AMD Radeon HD 8280: Integrierte Grafikeinheit der AMD E2-3000 APU ("Kabini"). Basiert auf der GCN-Architektur, integriert 128 Shadereinheiten und taktet mit 450 MHz.
Diese Grafikkarten sollten alle modernen Spiele flüssig darstellen können. Anspruchsvolle Spiele müssen jedoch in mittlerer Detailstufe gespielt werden. Ältere und weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie die Sims Serie können auch in hohen Detailsstufen flüssig dargestellt werden.

Notebook-Displays im 15 Zoll-Format sind der Standard schlechthin. 15.4 Zoll ist meist die genaue Größeneinheit für 16:10 Notebooks, während 15.6 Zoll ein Indiz für das Format 16:9 sind. Dieses Subnotebook/Netbook gehört zu den leichtesten Notebooks überhaupt und kann hervorragend getragen werden. Es gibt nur wenige Sub-Notebooks/Netbooks, die noch leichter sind. 10 Zoll Displays passen in diesen Gewichtsbereich.

Dieses Notebook ist etwas leichter als der Durchschnitt aller Notebooks. Für Subnotebooks ist das bereits zu schwer. 14 Zoll Displays passen in diesen Gewichtsbereich.
69.08%: Diese Bewertung ist schlecht. Die meisten Notebooks werden besser beurteilt. Als Kaufempfehlung darf man das nicht sehen.
