Archive.org versionOnline kostet das Asus VivoBook in der getesteten Ausstattung derzeit etwa 500 Euro. Zu diesem Preis erhalten Käufer ein auf den ersten Blick sehr gut verarbeitetes Notebook. Beim Rezensions-Gerät von netzwelt war allerdings das Trackpad nicht ganz passgenau eingebaut. Wer ein kompaktes Subnotebook für die tägliche Schreibarbeit benötigt und Windows 8 gerne mit einem Touchscreen nutzen möchte, findet derzeit kaum Alternativen in dieser Liga.

Finally months after its release I receive a small touch notebook designed for Windows 8. We love the keyboard and design once open, but the lacklustre screen does disappoint. The Acer Aspire S3 is just one example which leaves us considering smaller, cheaper netbooks or budget ultrabooks over this Notebook which tries hard to bring Windows 8 skills at a budget price but falls at crucial hurdles - 3 hour battery life is poor and the weight is unappealing given the screen size. Great price is money is tight, though.

Archive.org versionWenig Licht und viel Schatten. Für einfache Office-Arbeiten, für das Anschauen von Videos, Musik hören und das Surfen im Netz eignet sich das VivoBook gut bis sehr gut. Aber schon bei etwas anspruchsvollerer Software kommt das Gerät aufgrund schwacher Hardwarekomponenten ins Stocken. Hinzu gesellt sich ein dunkles Display, das für den Außeneinsatz kaum geeignet ist.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. ist ein großer taiwanesischer Hersteller von Computer-Hardware mit Sitz in Taipeh, gegründet 1989. Unter dem Markennamen Asus fertigt das Unternehmen eine breite Palette von Produkten, darunter Laptops, Desktops, Motherboards, Grafikkarten, Monitore, Smartphones und Netzwerkgeräte, Komplettsysteme und PC-Bauteile für Endkunden.
Unter dem Markennamen ROG (Republic of Gamers) stellt ASUS Gaming-Laptops her, die bei Spielern für ihre leistungsstarken Spezifikationen, dedizierten Grafikkarten, Displays mit hoher Bildwiederholrate und fortschrittlichen Kühlsystemen bekannt sind.
Über das Gaming hinaus werden eine breite Palette von Notebooks für unterschiedliche Anforderungen und Budgets geboten: von ultraschlanken und leichten Ultrabooks bis hin zu vielseitigen 2-in-1-Convertibles und budgetfreundlichen Optionen. 2023 hatte Asus einen Weltmarktanteil von 7% am PC-Markts.
Die Kundenzufriedenheit mit ASUS-Notebooks betrifft Leistung, die Funktionen und das gute Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis der ASUS-Notebooks. Wie bei jeder Marke gibt es jedoch gelegentlich Berichte über Probleme wie Überhitzung, Treiberkompatibilität oder Probleme mit der Verarbeitungsqualität.
Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.
Intel HD Graphics 4000: In Ivy Bridge Prozessoren (3. Generation Core) integrierte Grafikkarte in höchster Ausbaustufe. Je nach Prozessor (ULV bis Desktop Quad-Core) unterschiedlich getaktet.
Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen. Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics: Intel HD Graphics oder GMA HD genannte onboard Grafikkarte welche im Package der Core i3/i5/i7 Arrandale Dual-Core Prozessoren untergebracht wird. Je nach Prozessormodell maximal mit 500 bis 766 MHz getaktet (Turbo Boost). Von Lenovo anscheinend auch GMA5700MHD genannt. Die gleichgenannte Intel HD Graphics Prozessorgrafik in den Sandy Bridge Prozessoren basiert auf einer neueren Architektur.
Intel HD Graphics 2000: In den Sandy Bridge Prozessoren (Core ix-2xxx) von Intel integrierte Grafikkarte. Die HD 2000 ist die schwächere, GT1 genannte, Variante mit 6 statt 12 Execution Units (EUs).

3217U:
Stromspar-Doppelkernprozessor mit nur 1.8 GHz Basisfrequenz. Integriert die Intel HD Graphics 4000 (jedoch nur mit 350 - 1050 MHz Taktung) und einen DDR3-1600 Speicherkontroller.
Intel Pentium:
987: Auf Sandy Brige Architektur basierender Stromspar-Doppelkernprozessor ohne Turbo (max 1.5 GHz) und mit abgespeckten Features (kein QuickSync, AES, Virtualization, Trusted Execution) mit integrierter HD Graphics Grafikkarte und integriertem DDR3 Speicherkontroller.
Intel Celeron:
847: Auf Sandy Brige Architektur basierender Stromspar-Doppelkernprozessor ohne Turbo (max 1.1 GHz) mit integrierter HD Graphics Grafikkarte (350-800) und integriertem DDR3 Speicherkontroller.
Intel Core i5:
3317U:
Stromspar-Doppelkernprozessor mit nur 1.7 GHz Basisfrequenz aber einem Turbo bis zu 2.6 GHz (bei ausreichender Kühlung). Integriert die Intel HD Graphics 4000 (jedoch nur mit 350 - 1050 MHz Taktung) und einen DDR3-1600 Speicherkontroller.

79.67%: Weltbewegend ist diese Bewertung nicht. Diese Bewertung muss man eigentlich als unterdurchschnittlich ansehen, denn es gibt etwa ebenso mehr Geräte mit schlechtere Beurteilungen als Besseren.
