Mit dem Elitebook 2530p kommt HP allen Anforderungen des Business Users an ein kompaktes und mobiles Notebook nach. So bietet etwa das Gehäuse guten Schutz sowohl für die integrierte Hardware als auch das Display. Auch einen etwas raueren Umgang im Außendienst sollte das Subnotebook ohne weiteres wegstecken können. Vielschreiber werden die gute Tastatur mit großzügiger Tastengröße im Standardlayout je nach persönlichen Vorlieben zu schätzen wissen. Auch mit den Mausersatzlösungen kann man zufrieden sein. Sowohl Touchpad als auch Trackpoint erlauben ein präzises Navigieren des Mauszeigers.

Stabilität, Akkulaufzeit, Usability – Werte die uns beim HP EliteBook 2530p genauso überzeugt haben, wie die vom großen Bruder 6930p. Der kleine 12-Zöller, ausgerichtet auf Business-Kunden, zeigt uns neben einer Office-Laufzeit von 4,5 Stunden eine gute Anwendungsleistung trotz ULV-Prozessor. Mit 1.6 Kilogramm ist das Gerät gut unterwegs.

The first word that comes to mind when you pick up HP’s 2530p is “solid.” From its heft, to its construction, to its scratch-resistant anodized aluminum display enclosure and palm rest, this notebook seems eminently rugged. HP claims that the 2530p has passed a battery of Mil-Spec tests including 26 drops from different angles at a distance of 30 inches, but we didn’t have the stomach to verify that. If you’re looking for an ultraportable solution that gets the job done and requires no babying, the HP 2530p is that product.

What’s worth knowing about the HP EliteBook 2530p is that HP set out to design a system that they could put head-to-head with the ThinkPad X200. Of course, this might not have been their explicit goal, but they effectively wanted a industry-leading enterprise-ready ultraportable with more than enough power, an all-day battery life, and a sturdy build. Then, for good measure, they threw in an optical drive, and in the case of our test model, an 80GB Intel SSD, to really set it apart. And, as you’ve probably ascertained, they were very successful–the EliteBook 2530p is best business ultraportable on the market right now. This is not to say that it is light years ahead of fine products like the X200 or the Toughbook W8 but right now a 2530p, properly outfitted to an individual user’s needs is almost impossible to beat.

The HP EliteBook 2530p is the best business-grade 12-inch notebook currently on the market. Despite a large number of business solutions from Dell and Lenovo in our office, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone on our staff who doesn't think the 2530p is currently the best all-around choice in the 12-inch form factor. If extreme portability, durability, and long battery life are important to you, the EliteBook 2530p makes an ideal choice. However, while it's fair to say the 2530p is "best in class" that doesn't mean it's perfect. The biggest potential criticism you can leverage against the EliteBook 2530p is the same problem every notebook in this class has to deal with: In order to provide long battery life and maintain low heat levels in such a small notebook you have to use low voltage or ultra-low voltage processors.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: Im GM45, GS45 und GE45 Chipsatz (Montevina Plattform) integrierte shared Memory Grafikkarte von Intel. Durch höhere Taktung und mehr Shader ist sie deutlich schneller als die X3100, jedoch immer noch nicht für Spieler empfehlenswert. Kann HD-Videos (AVC/VC2/MPEG2) dekodieren und so die CPU entlasten.

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.

12.1": Es handelt sich um ein relativ häufiges Displayformat für Subnotebooks. Es stellt die durchschnittliche Grösse für Subnotebooks dar. Netbooks dagegen haben noch kleinere Displays. Der Vorteil von Subnotebooks liegt darin, dass das Notebook klein dimensioniert sein kann und daher leicht tragbar ist. Der kleine Display hat noch den Vorteil wenig Strom zu benötigen, was die Akkulaufzeit und damit die Mobilität weiter verbessert. Der Nachteil ist, dass das Lesen von Texten etwas anstrengend für die Augen ist. Hohe Auflösungen sind nur bedingt nutzbar.

84.75%: Diese Bewertung muss man eigentlich als durchschnittlich ansehen, denn es gibt etwa ebenso viele Notebooks mit besseren Beurteilungen wie Schlechteren. Die Verbalbeurteilungen klingen aber oft besser als sie wirklich sind, denn richtig gelästert wird über Notebooks eher selten. Obwohl dieser Bereich offiziell meist einem "Befriedigen" entspricht, passt oft eher "mäßiger Durchschnitt".
