Intel i5-L16G7

Der Intel Core i5-L16G7 ist ein sparsamer ULV-SoC mit 5 Prozessorkernen für Notebooks, Tablets und Convertibles, der auf der Lakefield-Architektur basiert. Er integriert einen schnellen Sunny Cove Kern (bekannt aus der Ice-Lake-Architektur, jedoch ohne AVX512) mit bis zu 3 GHz und 4 kleine Stromsparkerne auf Basis der neuen Tremont-Architektur (normalerweise für Atoms, Celerons und Pentiums, 2,8 GHz max.). Alle Kerne gemeinsam können maximal mit 1,8 GHz takten. Die CPU unterstützt kein HyperThreading / SMT und kann daher 5 Threads gleichzeitig ausführen. Der Rest des SoC kommt aus der Ice Lake-Generation wie auch die Gen 11 Grafik (Intel UHD Graphics G7 Grafikeinheit mit 64 EUs aber nur 500 MHz). Der SoC wird im aktuellen 10-Nanometer-Prozess bei Intel gefertigt. Der integrierte Speichercontroller unterstützt LPDDR4X-4267.

Die Performance liegt laut Intel bei Multithreaded-Applikationen 24% und bei Singlethreaded 12% vor einem Core i7-8500Y (Amber Lake-Y, 2 Kerne 1,5 - 4,2 GHz). Damit sollte sich die CPU leicht unterhalb des Core i3-8130U einreihen.

Mit einem TDP von nur 7 Watt (PL1, 9,5 Watt PL2) eignet sich der SoC für sehr kleine und leichte Notebooks und Tablets. Besonders der Standy-Stromverbrauch soll laut Intel deutlich reduziert worden sein (mit 2,5mW um 91% besser im Vergleich zum i7-8500Y)

Der Prozessor wird in 10nm bei Intel hergestellt und nutzt die Foveros 3D Packaging Technologie. Damit werdender in 22FFL hergestellte I/O-Die, der 10nm-Compute-Die und max. 8 GB LPDDR4x Speicher übereinander gestapelt.
