Insgesamt hat das GE620-i748W7P einen zwiespältigen Eindruck hinterlassen. Blickt man vornehmlich auf den Preis-Leistungsaspekt, ist MSI überhaupt kein Vorwurf zu machen. Für weniger als 800 Euro wird dem Käufer eine spieletaugliche Mittelklasse-Grafikkarte und ein potenter Quad-Core-Prozessor geboten.

The MSI GE620 is a solid all-rounder, offering a great processor and decent graphics card at a reasonable price. However, its design is uninspired and the lack of a Blu-ray drive is slightly disappointing - it could have marked this model as one of the best entertainment laptops in its category.

The MSI GE620 is a heck of a good value for money gaming laptop. For £800 you get a high performance Core i7 2630QM quad core processor with hyperthreading and the very capable Nvidia GT540M discrete solution. In regards to overall system performance, this is one of the best value for money systems we have reviewed in recent months. It is capable of a variety of uses, such as general office duties, high definition movie playback and more intensive tasks such as gaming, rendering and video encoding. Battery life is also a plus point, averaging between 3 and 4 hours for media playback and general work related demands. Gaming reduces this to just over 2 hours, but for a 6 cell battery this is good. We are glad to report that MSI are using a 7,200 rpm hard drive which delivers decent all round performance with high storage capabilities. The build quality is decent, although we were disappointed with the quality of the panel. It is extremely glossy, causing noticeable and distracting reflections and the colour rendition is distinctly average. It isn’t bad, but we have seen much better, especially on other MSI laptops.

The GE620 from MSI is very obviously targeted at the gaming crowd, but it has much to offer anyone looking for a desktop replacement for under £1000. In fact, you’ll have plenty of change from a grand – it’s just a shame that the model we tested had a pretty average screen. There is a version with a 1920 x 1080 display available though.

MSI has priced the GE620 for Rs. 49,990 which is not a bad deal at all considering the configuration. Having said that, the Acer TimelineX 5830TG has similar specifications and is also a good 10K cheaper. However, the build quality is not as good as the MSI. Overall, the GE620 makes for a decent gaming notebook with a good battery life to boot.

MSI hat mit dem GE620DX ein solides Mittelklasse-Modell vorgestellt. Das Design weiß ob seiner edlen Anmutung zu begeistern und die Tastatur und die restlichen Tasten weisen einen guten Druckpunkt auf. Richtig gut hat uns auch das helle Display mit dem guten Kontrast gefallen.

MSI ist besonders als Hersteller von Hauptplatinen und Grafikkarten für PCs bekannt, bietet darüber hinaus Computerzubehör, Komplettsysteme und Notebooks an. Das Unternehmen beschäftigt weltweit etwa 16.900 Mitarbeiter und besitzt Werke in China und Taiwan. Der Markenname Microstar gehört in Deutschland allerdings der Firma Medion. Der Umsatz belief sich im Jahr 2005 auf ca. 1,52 Mrd. €. Als Notebook-Hersteller ist MSI erst seit 2005 einem breiteren Publikum bekannt und vermarktet seine Mobilcomputer weltweit, allerdings mit eher bescheidenen Marktanteilen.

Dieses Notebook ist etwas leichter als der Durchschnitt aller Notebooks. Für Subnotebooks ist das bereits zu schwer. 14 Zoll Displays passen in diesen Gewichtsbereich.

73.82%: Diese Bewertung ist schlecht. Die meisten Notebooks werden besser beurteilt. Als Kaufempfehlung darf man das nicht sehen. Auch wenn Verbalbewertungen in diesem Bereich gar nicht so schlecht klingen ("genügend" oder "befriedigend"), meist sind es Euphemismen, die eine Klassifikation als unterdurchschnittliches Notebook verschleiern.
