Toshiba Protégé M800
= a white Satellite U400 in weiß + Fingerprint Reader
In Japan the M800 (or M801) are already available, but now Toshiba also introduced the Notebook in good old Europe. In June or July we should see the white Subnotebooks at the Toshiba dealer.
Technically, the Protégé M800 is based on the already available Satellite U400 with Intel Santa Rosa platform and Core 2 Duo processors. With 2 kg and a 13,3 inch screen, the laptop falls in the "subnotebook" category.
The M800 will be similarily priced as the U400 (when equally equipped). Still the starting price will be higher, because it will be equipped only with higher class components (fast Core 2 Duo, e.g.).
After the launch of the upcoming Montevina platform (Centrino 2) the laptop should be equipped with it (approximately July).
