Die neuste Version von Parallels Desktop ist in der 6. Auflage veröffentlicht. Neu sind unter anderem der 64-Bit-Support und eine bessere Performance.

Die beliebte Windows-Virtualisierung für Mac-Nutzer erscheint am 14. September als Download und Retail-Box im Handel. Der ChangeLog der neuen Version umfasst insgesamt 80 neue sowie verbesserte Funktionen.

Die grundlegenden Neuerungen in Version 6 ist ein schnellerer Startvorgang von Windows (41 Prozent schneller), optimierter Zugriff auf USB-Speicher, Netzwerkmedien und freigegebene Ordner, eine 64-Bit-Engine, verbesserter 5.1-Surround-Sound und eine bessere Leistung unter Windows.

Die Preise für die neuen Software sind nicht außergewöhnlich und orientieren sich an dem Vorgänger. Eine neue Version wird 79,90 Euro (UVP) kosten und das Upgrade von Version 5 auf 6 wird 49,90 Euro (UVP) kosten.

Der Online-Händler Arktis.de bietet beide Versionen bis Montag den 13. September zu günstigen Konditionen an. In dieser Aktion kostet die Vollversion 64,90 Euro und das Upgrade 39,90 Euro, wobei auf beide Preis 5 Euro Versandkosten addiert werden müssen.

Parallels also announced the availability of Parallels Desktop 6 Switch to Mac Edition, which includes Parallels Desktop 6 plus new features specifically designed to make the move from PC to Mac smart and simple.

Availability and Pricing
Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac will be available for download, as well as packaged software for delivery, from Parallels.com starting on Sept. 14. Packaged software will also be available at Apple retail stores and Apple.com, Amazon.com, Fry’s Electronics, MicroCenter and hundreds of other retail locations nationwide on Sept. 14.

The standard retail price (SRP) of Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac is $79.99 and a student edition is available for $39.99. Parallels Desktop 6 Switch to Mac Edition is $99.99. Upgrades at $49.99 are available now for existing Parallels Desktop for Mac customers. Details are available online at www.parallels.com.

Customers who purchased Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac from an authorized reseller on or after August 15th, 2010, are eligible to upgrade to Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac at no additional cost, when it becomes available. Details are available online at www.parallels.com/keyfor6.

Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac will be available in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish starting Sept. 14. Additional localized versions will be available in Japanese, Russian, simplified and traditional Chinese, Czech and Polish in the coming weeks.
