Overall the Samsung Galaxy S9+ is a good upgrade to the Galaxy S8+. Even though it has the same display, it has slightly smaller bottom bezels, packs a faster processor with 6GB RAM, comes with a better dual-aperture and telephoto rear cameras, which is a huge improvement compared to the S8+, stereo speakers and finally perfect placement of the fingerprint sensor. Samsung finally offers a 256GB version for those who need it. It has the same old front camera and Bixby is still not up to the mark compared to Google Assistant, when it comes to showing the info you need. The camera quality is still not up to the mark when compared to the Pixel 2 series or the iPhone X, especially in low-light, since Pixel 2 images offer better shadow and highlight and portraits are obviously better in Pixel 2.

To conclude our Samsung Galaxy S9+ review, I think it’s important to point out why this phone exists. Samsung really wants to offer the full package. The best all rounder. A phone that excels in everything, and that’s also delightful to use. In that respect, I think the company has succeeded. The whole concept of the camera re-imagined is not necessarily accurate, but it’s not like if the photos were bad. They’re mostly awesome.

When I first picked up the Galaxy S9+ I was certain it would be the better phone of the two new Samsungs. Now I’m not so sure. Dual cameras aside, there’s barely any difference between the two phones and I just find the standard S9 easier to hold. To me at least, that’s a bigger deal than being able to zoom in a little bit more than normal on your photos.

Just a quick personal observation. Samsung is finally learning to play the crowd with the Galaxy S9. Instead of just throwing new features, they're making sure things work better, and play better with each other.
