Es bietet ein tolles Display und ausreichend Leistung selbst für anfordernde Spiele, kommt in einem sehr hochwertig wirkenden und sehr flachen Gehäuse aus Metall und Glas daher, zeigt sich soundstärker als die meisten anderen Tablet-Modelle und bietet beim Videostreaming eine lange Akkulaufzeit selbst bei stärkster Display-Beleuchtung.

Ich halte das Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 für das aktuell beste Android-Tablet. Das liegt hauptsächlich an dem richtig guten Display – immerhin ist das Display eines der wichtigsten Eigenschaften eines Tablets. Zwar hätte ich mit ein komplettes Metallgehäuse gewünscht, doch ist die Verarbeitung auch mit der Glasrückseite sehr hochwertig.

Mit dem Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 ist den Südkoreanern ein optisch schickes Tablet gelungen. Abstriche gibt es für den ein Jahr alten Chip. Hier hätte es gern der neue Snapdragon 821 oder sogar der Snapdragon 835 sein dürfen. Trotzdem reichte es im Test für alle Anwendungsgelegenheiten aus. Abgesehen von der Leistung ist das Tab S3 ein Gerät, das dank des Formfaktors und des dünnen Gehäuses locker in jede Tasche passt.

Wie bei allen Tablets in dieser Größe wächst das Verlangen, das Gerät abstellen zu wollen, um die Hände zu entlasten, proportional zur Nutzungsdauer. Auch bei leichten 429 Gramm. Da böte sich dann das Book Cover Keyboard für 130 Euro an. Dann hätte man auch gleich eine physische Tastatur mit dabei.

Dank des endlich inbegriffenen des S-Pens und der gundlegend überarbeiteten Software verspricht das Tab S3, das wohl verdiente aber auch erwartete Upgrade zum Tab S2 zu werden. Durch die besseren Lautsprecher könnte es ideal werden, im im Bett noch einen Film zu gucken. Mein erster Eindruck vom Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 ist durchaus gut. Es ist schön, dass es endlich wieder ein HighEnd-Tablet der Koreaner gibt. Punkten kann das Tablet vor allem durch das richtig gute Super AMOLED-Display, auf die Glasrückseite hätten sie aber verzichten können. Ich werde das Galaxy Tab S3 auf jeden Fall testen um herauszufinden, wie gut es im realen Einsatz tatsächlich ist.

Auf den ersten Blick unterscheidet sich das Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 kaum von seinem Vorgänger, dem Galaxy Tab S2. Unterhalb des Displays befinden sich die drei typischen Android-Buttons, wobei im Home Button ein Fingerabdruckleser integriert ist. Der Rahmen besteht aus Metall, anders als beim S2 wurde die Rückseite nun jedoch aus Glas gefertigt.

After spending the past few weeks with Samsung’s latest tablet I have grown to using it more. Based on its portability, decent battery life and quick charging. Display is still some of the best out there but would love to see HDR supported by apps to really push its full potential. Optional keyboard is nice for doing work but can be crammed for some and also doesn’t magnetically close. Included S-Pen is a nice touch and awesome to use but wish it had a built-in slot or magnet for the Tab S3 . The Galaxy Tab S3 is realistically a great media consumption powerhouse and is great for viewing content. One plus over say the iPad Pro or even Pixel C is that the Tab S3 has expandable storage pushing it to 256GB. That’s a lot of movies. That $600 price tag is a bit hard to swallow though.

But the Tab S3 and its companion keyboard, which costs an extra $130, aren’t good enough for intensive typing and multitasking. If you can stomach the $600 price and don’t need to do serious work on the Tab S3, you’ll find it satisfying.

For those ready to spring for the Tab S3, it’s expected to be available starting March 24th.

Modell: Das Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 SM-T825 ist ein gut aussehendes, schnelles Tablet mit wunderschönem Bildschirm. Wie die meisten Samsung-Geräte nutzt es die AMOLED-Technologie, die für sattere Farben, tiefere Schwarztöne und einen umfassenderen Bildschirm für Medien-Konsum sorgt. Dies sind vor allem für User von Streaming-Diensten wie Netflix und Amazon Video gute Nachrichten. Das Tablet nutzt ebenso wie das Tab S2 eine Auflösung von 2.048 x 1.536 Pixeln, doch es is nun HDR-fähig. HDR (High Dynamic Range) sorgt für eine viel größere Maximal-Helligkeit bei tiefer erscheinenden Schwarztönen und daher für ein natürlicheres Aussehen. Verglichen mit seinem Vorgänger ist das Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 etwas dicker, doch mit nur 6 mm immer noch extrem schlank. Die Glasrückseite ist sehr empfindlich auf Fingerabdrücke, doch sie sieht schön aus, wenn sie sauber ist. Das Tab S3 ist trotz seiner schlanken Bauweise sehr robust und die Verarbeitung ist sehr gut. Die kleine Kamera-Ausbuchtung an der Rückseite schützt die Linse. Der kapazitive Touchscreen des Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 wird durch Corning Gorilla Glass 4 geschützt. Er weist sehr gute Gleiteigenschaften auf und is sowohl reaktionsfreudig als auch präzise. Der Bildschirm unterstützt Eingaben via Samsungs S Pen, welcher in Zusammenarbeit mit Wacom entwickelt wurde. Er ist auch mit anderen Samsung-Geräten kompatibel. Er muss nicht geladen werden und liegt mit einem Durchmesser von 9,4 mm angenehm in der Hand. Allerdings kann er nicht mehr im Gehäuse verstaut werden.

Der Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 im Inneren des Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 ist nicht mehr der neueste High-End-SoC, doch die Leistung ist immer noch gut. Der Adreno 530 Grafikchip trägt die gleiche Bezeichnung wie die GPU des 821, doch die Taktraten sind etwas niedriger. Die Komponenten werden durch 4 GB RAM abgerundet. In puncto Kamera an der Rückseite erhielt das Phone einen 13-MP-Sensor, eine Linse mit f/1.9 Blende und einen Blitz. Vier Lautsprecher verbessern die Medien-Erfahrung. Zwei davon befinden sich unten und zwei oben und sie sind von den Audio-Gurus von AKG abgestimmt. Es handelt sich um gute Lautsprecher mit hoher Lautstärke und dank ihrer Lage verbreitet sich der Schall in alle Richtungen. Um die Gaming-Erfahrung dieses Tablets weiter zu verbessern, wurde der Galaxy Game Launcher für das Galaxy Tab S3 (LTE) optimiert. Er inkludiert nun einen Energiesparmodus und ermöglicht es Benachrichtigungen in Games abzuschalten. Dank der atemberaubenden Grafikleistung der Vulkan API steht ständigem Spielen nichts im Wege. Als Akku nutzt das Tab S3 ein etwas konservatives 6000-mAh-Modell. Samsung liefert einen seiner adaptiven USB-C-Fast-Charging-Adapter mit, der das Tablet in zirka zwei Stunden lädt – also in zirka der halben Zeit, die ein iPad zum vollständigen Laden benötigt.
