Das Sony Xperia M2 Aqua ist ein gutes, sehr stabiles Android-Smartphone mit einem guten, sehr großen Display. Gute Netztmpfindlichkeit. Es ist außerdem gegen Wasser und Staub geschützt. Das Gerät eignet sich sehr gut für das Surfen im Internet und E-Mail und funkt mit der schnellen Datenverbindung LTE. Seine schwache Kamera fotografiert recht träge, macht schwache Fotos bei geringer und auch bei normaler Beleuchtung und schwache Videos. Die GPS-Ortung funktioniert mit Internetverbindung sehr schnell. Der Akku ist gut, kann aber nicht vom Nutzer gewechselt werden. Das Gerät braucht eine Sim-Karte im Micro-Sim-Format.

Continuing my look at mobile devices available from Vodafone, it is the turn of the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua offering. The Xperia M2 Aqua is a member of the Sony family of smartphones. This handset is available in a choice of purple, white or black with the latter being the colour of my review sample kindly provided by Vodafone.

I have read in other reviews that the flaps were “awkward”. Now, whilst this may need a bit of getting used to if you’re regularly using the 3.5mm audio port, it wasn’t a great problem for me just to slip my nail under the flap and charge it each night. I don’t think it was a massive issue really, and you’ll soon get used to it. It’s simply the pay off for having a waterproof phone.

70% Waterproofing without the premium price tag

The Sony Xperia M2 Aqua adds water resistance to the solid Xperia M2. It's a great idea but the execution is clumsy. Waterproofing is great, but having to make sure your seals are in place isn't. What if you are unexpectedly thrown into a swimming pool? Or leave a seal slightly open in a heavy downpour? Until waterproofing comes without the seals it'll be far from the perfect solution. There are a few other lingering problems on the phone. The camera, for instance, struggles if it isn't given the perfect lighting conditions (although it can be used underwater which is a nice touch) and for around this price you can get a phone with a better screen.

It's key to stress that this is in no way a new smartphone in its own right. The Sony Xperia M2 Aqua is just that: a slightly upgraded, waterproofed version of the original M2. Still, while it's by no means going to make headlines, the handset is sure to make waves in the midrange market as a decent waterproof option. Before now water-proofing was a selling point of the flagship, but the M2 Aqua has cracked open a new market for H20 repelling handsets.

A waterproofed version of one of their mass-market models is hardly the biggest thing to come out of Sony's labs this season. There's a new super-mini to look forward to and the next flagship generation, plus a couple of wearables just broke cover ahead of the IFA show. Yet, the one thing all these have in common is waterproofing, no less. A fact the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua will be keen to use to its advantage.

With water resistance and Android KitKat on board, plus no downsides compared with the original phone, there's no reason to pick up the plain ol' vanilla Xperia M2 any more. If you want a mid-range mobile with a solid camera and a good-sized screen, the Xperia M2 Aqua is a damn good choice.

Über Regen oder dass das Gerät nass wird, braucht man sich mit dem Sony Xperia M2 Aqua keine Sorgen machen. Das Smartphone ist laut IP65 und IP68 wasserdicht und funktioniert auch in einer Wassertiefe von 1,5 m. Das staubgeschützte Design des Metall-Gehäuses ist elegant und haltbar und bietet den legendären Aluminium-Stromschalter.

Die Farboptionen sind schwarz, weiß und kupfer und ermöglichen eine der Persönlichkeit des Nutzers entsprechende Wahl. Das Sony Xperia M2 Aqua ist mit einem 4.8-Zoll großen qHD IPS-Bildschirm ausgestattet, das Qualität und Schärfe verströmt. Im Inneren arbeiten ein Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Quad-Core-Prozessor mit einer Taktrate von 1,2 GHz, 1 GB RAM und eine Adreno 305 GPU. Der interne Speicher sind für heutige moderne Standards nur magere 8 GB. Der Nutzer kann jedoch mit einer MicroSD-Karte bis zu 32 GB hinzufügen.

Das Android-4.4-KitKat-Gerät verfügt über eine 8-MP-Kamera mit Auto-Fokus. Dank Sony Exmor RS Image-Sensor ist die Bildaufnahme-Qualität ausgezeichnet. Die Front-Kamera löst mit 1,1 MP auf. Weitere Features des Sony Xperia M2 Aqua sind Bluetooth 4.0, aGPS und NFC. Dank 2330 mAh Akku, der bis zu 11 Stunden 23 Minuten Sprechzeit ermöglicht, ist die Akkulaufzeit gut.

Serie: Sony's Xperia Z5 comes in 3 major versions, known as standard, premium and compact. The material choice is a very nice glass front and a back with metal construction wrapping all around the phone. Sony has always been recognized for having one of if not the best cameras on their phones. The Xperia Z5 features the latest sensor with 23 MP, 5520 х 4140 pixels, phase detection, autofocus, and LED flash. It is capable of video recording at 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, and 720p@120fps with HDR function available. All 3 versions come with the new fingerprint sensor, which is placed at the side of the phone where the power button is. Another great design of the phone is its stereo front facing speakers. The Xperia Z5 phones are IP68 certified, i.e. dust proof and water resistant over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes.

The compact version has a 4.6 inch 720 x 1280 pixels Triluminos display. Because of its lower price it is not as big and high-resolution than the standard model. The hardware of the Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop) system includes a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 consisting of 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and Cortex A43 Quad Core CPUs and an Adreno 430 GPU. The only difference of the compact model to the standard model is that it does not have 3 GB of RAM. However, due to its lower screen resolution it should have no problems with only 2 GB of RAM. The non-removable Lithium-Ion battery rated at 2700 mAh is smaller than the standard model's. Sony claims that it will last up to 2 days. In addition, this device comes with 32 GB of flash memory and the storage capacity can be expanded with a microSD by up to 200 GB.

3D Spiele sind auf diesen Vertretern nur in Ausnahmen spielbar, grundsätzlich sind die Grafiklösungen hierfür jedoch nicht geeignet. Office Programme und Internet surfen dürfte jedoch ohne Problem möglich sein.
