The Toshiba Satellite e205 is a pretty amazing notebook. Most of the issues I discovered during my use were minor and don’t take away from the fact that this is a powerful notebook that is perfect for college students. It would be great if the notebook had all-day battery life, but given all you can do it is acceptable. There’s no denying that the wireless streaming is an incredibly cool feature and one that really makes the device. If you love to consume media — online, on your notebook and on your HDTV — then the e205 is perfect for you. If you find yourself editing a clip for YouTube or touching up a few photos, it’ll do that too.

On its own, the Satellite E205-S1904 is an average laptop, but its Wireless Display capability is pretty cool.

We enjoyed using the E205 and could easily envision it becoming our go-to laptop when we are out and about, if it weren't for the disappointing battery life--which for us is a deal breaker. We also would have liked to see built-in Bluetooth, support for Ethernet Gigabit, and better-sounding speakers. The E205 offers a decent balance between performance, price, and features--as well as a nifty new technology--but we can't help thinking that one too many compromises went into its crowd-sourced design.

The Toshiba Satellite E205 is one of the nicest 14-inch consumer notebooks we have reviewed in a while. It offers an excellent modern design, a great color scheme, and very useful features. Wireless technology has come a long way in the past few years with Wireless USB usually being mentioned the most. Unlike Wireless USB, Intel Wireless Display actually works very well.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics: Intel HD Graphics oder GMA HD genannte onboard Grafikkarte welche im Package der Core i3/i5/i7 Arrandale Dual-Core Prozessoren untergebracht wird. Je nach Prozessormodell maximal mit 500 bis 766 MHz getaktet (Turbo Boost). Von Lenovo anscheinend auch GMA5700MHD genannt. Die gleichgenannte Intel HD Graphics Prozessorgrafik in den Sandy Bridge Prozessoren basiert auf einer neueren Architektur.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

Intel Core i5:

430M: Der Core i5-430M besitzt im Vergleich zum i7-640 nur 3MB L3 Cache und taktet zwischen 2.26-2.53 GHz (je nach Auslastung dank Turbo Mode). VT-d, Trusted Execution und AES Funktionen fehlen dem 430M jedoch. Durch Hyperthreading werden bis zu 4 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeitet. Im Package ist auch noch eine integrierte Grafikkarte (GMA HD mit 500-766 MHz) und ein Speichercontroller (beide noch 45nm Fertigung). 14.0": 14 Zoll Display-Grösse stellt ein Mittelding zwischen den kleinen Subnotebook-Formaten und dem 15 Zoll-Standard-Display dar. Der Grund der Beliebtheit mittelgrosser Displays ist, dass diese Größe einigermaßen augenschonend ist und dennoch nicht allzu viel Strom verbraucht und die Geräte noch halbwegs kompakt sein können.

75.6%: Weltbewegend ist diese Bewertung nicht. Obwohl es bei den meisten Websites einem "Befriedigend" entspricht, muss man bedenken, dass es kaum Notebooks gibt, die unter 60% erhalten. Verbalbewertungen in diesem Bereich klingen oft nicht schlecht, sind aber oft verklausulierte Euphemismen. Dieses Notebook wird von den Testern eigentlich als unterdurchschnittlich angesehen, eine Kaufempfehlung kann man nur mit viel Wohlwollen darin sehen.
