Der Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (APQ8016) ist ein ARM-basierter Mittelklasse-SoC für Tablets und Smartphones. Der im Dezember 2013 vorgestellte Chip ist der erste 64-Bit-SoC von Qualcomm und integriert vier der neuen Cortex-A53-Kerne von ARM, die mit bis zu 1,2 GHz takten. Dies unterscheidet ihn vom schnelleren Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 welcher üblicherweise mit 1.4 GHz getaktet wird. Weiterhin verfügt der Snapdragon 410 über eine Adreno-306-Grafikeinheit, einen 32/64 Bit LPDDR2/3-Speichercontroller (max. 533 MHz, 8,5 GB/s) sowie ein Funkmodem für WLAN und Bluetooth. UMTS/LTE wird im Vergleich zum MSM8916 nicht unterstützt.

Prozessor

Der Cortex-A53 kann als Nachfolger des beliebten Cortex-A7-Designs betrachtet werden. Neben der von 32 auf 64 Bit verbreiterten Prozessorarchitektur (ARMv8-ISA), die unter anderem die Adressierung von mehr als 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher erlaubt, wurden auch weitere Details wie die Sprungvorhersage optimiert. Insgesamt steigt die Pro-MHz-Leistung dadurch deutlich an und liegt sogar etwas oberhalb eines Cortex-A9-Kernes.

Grafiklösung

Eine weitere Neuerung ist die integrierte Grafikeinheit, die auf den Namen Adreno 306 (siehe für Benchmarks) hört. Laut Qualcomm ist die 306 im Vergleich zur Vorgänger-Grafikkarte-Adreno 305 sparsamer. In unseren Benchmarks war die Performance vergleichbar.

Features

Der Snapdragon 410 unterstützt eine Reihe verschiedener Funkstandards. Dazu gehören nicht nur WLAN und Bluetooth, sondern auch die Ortungsdienste GPS, GLOSNASS und BeiDou. Weiterhin beherrscht der Chip 2G- und 3G-Funk ebenso wie den aktuellen LTE-Standard (Single-, Dual- und Triple-SIM).

Zu den Multimedia-Fähigkeiten des SoCs zählt die Wiedergabe von 1080p-Videos sowie der Support für Kameras mit bis zu 13 Megapixeln.

Leistungsaufnahme

Der Snapdragon 410 wird in einem 28-Nanometer-Prozess (TSMC LP) gefertigt. Entsprechend der Leistungsdaten liegt die Leistungsaufnahme auf einem niedrigen bis mittleren Niveau, sodass der Chip auch in kleineren Smartphones oder Tablets verbaut werden kann.

Der Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 (SDM630) ist ein Mittelklasse SoC für (Android basierende) Smartphones und Tablets. Er integriert 8 Prozessorkerne der ARM Cortex-A53 Architektur. Im Vergleich zum Snapdragon 626, bietet der neue und schnellere Verbindungsmöglichkeiten (LTE, WLAN und Bluetooth). Das integrierte X12 LTE Modem unterstützt 4G mit bis zu 600 Mbps Download und 150 Mbps Upload. Weiters ist eine Adreno 508 Grafikkarte integriert mit Support für Vulkan und OpenGL ES 3.1. WLAN wir 802.11ac unterstützt und Bluetooth in der Version 5.0. Der Speicherkontroller unterstützt LPDDR4 mit 1333 MHz (Dual-Channel LPDDR4-2666).

Dank des modernen 14nm FinFET Herstellungsverfahrens, ist der SoC relativ genügsam und wahrscheinlich auch für kleinere Smartphones geeignet.

Der Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 ist ein ARM-basierter Mittelklasse-SoC für Tablets und Smartphones. Der im Februar 2015 vorgestellte Chip integriert acht 64-Bit-fähige Cortex-A53-Kerne von ARM, die mit bis zu 1,4 GHz takten. Weiterhin verfügt der Snapdragon 415 über eine Adreno-405-Grafikeinheit, einen LPDDR3-Speichercontroller (max. 667 MHz, 5,3 GB/s) sowie ein Funkmodem für WLAN, Bluetooth sowie UMTS/LTE.

Prozessor

Der Cortex-A53 kann als Nachfolger des beliebten Cortex-A7-Designs betrachtet werden. Neben der von 32 auf 64 Bit verbreiterten Prozessorarchitektur (ARMv8-ISA), die unter anderem die Adressierung von mehr als 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher erlaubt, wurden auch weitere Details wie die Sprungvorhersage optimiert. Die acht Kerne des Snapdragon 415 takten mit bis zu 1,4 GHz, sodass der SoC nicht ganz an die Performance eines Snapdragon 610 oder MediaTek MT8752 (beide mit 8 Kernen @ 1,7 GHz) herankommt.

Grafiklösung

Die integrierte Grafikeinheit hört auf den Namen Adreno 405 und dürfte mit etwa 500 MHz takten (nicht bestätigt). Die 400er-Serie der Adreno-Baureihe wurde im Feature-Umfang beträchtlich erweitert und unterstützt nun DirectX 11.2 (FL 11_1) inkl. Hardware Tesselation, OpenGL ES 3.1 sowie OpenCL 1.2. Desweiteren hat Qualcomm die Performance gegenüber der älteren Adreno 305 (Snapdragon 400) merklich verbessert, sodass nun etwa das Niveau einer Adreno 320 oder PowerVR G6200 erreicht wird.

Features
