Der Intel Pentium 997 ist ein Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) Einstiegs Doppelkernprozessor für kleine und leichte Notebooks welcher Ende 2012 vorgestellt wurde. Er bietet zwei Kerne und basiert auf der Sandy Bridge Architektur. Im Vergleich zu den Core i3, i5 und i7 Doppelkernprozessoren, sind jedoch die meisten Features deaktiviert (Turbo Boost, Virtualization VT-x und VT-d, Trusted Execution, AES, HyperThreading). Die integrierte Grafikkarte basiert auf die HD Graphics 2000, wird jedoch von Intel nur HD Graphics benannt und mit 350 bzw. 1000MHz (Turbo Boost) getaktet. Ausserdem ist ein DDR3-1333 Dual Channel Speicherkontroller in dem Prozessor integriert.

Die Performance liegt dank der verbesserten Architektur etwas oberhalb einer ähnlich getakteten Arrandale CPU und somit deutlich über dem Level eines Intel Pentium U5600 mit 1.33 GHz.

Die Sandy Bridge Doppelkernprozessoren beinhalten in der angegebenen TDP von 17 Watt auch die Grafikkarte und den Speicherkontroller. Mit 17 Watt TDP eignet sich der Prozessor für sehr kleine und leichte Notebooks.

Der Intel Pentium B960 ist ein Einstiegs Doppelkernprozessor für Notebooks welcher im Q4 2011 vorgestellt wurde. Er bietet zwei Kerne und basiert auf der Sandy Bridge Architektur. Im Vergleich zu den Core i3, i5 und i7 Doppelkernprozessoren, sind jedoch einige Features deaktiviert (Turbo Boost, HyperThreading, VT-x, VT-d, Trusted Execution, AES ). 

Die integrierte Grafikkarte namens HD Graphics (wie bei den alten Arrandale CPUs) taktet mit 650 bzw 1100 MHz (Turbo Boost) und basiert auf die HD Graphics 2000 (deutlich langsamer als die Intel HD Graphics 3000 in den Core i3 Prozessoren). Ausserdem ist ein DDR3 Dual Channel Speicherkontroller für bis 16GB DDR3-1333 in dem Prozessor integriert.

Die Performance liegt dank der verbesserten Architektur etwas oberhalb einer ähnlich getakteten Arrandale CPU und sollte damit auf dem Niveau eines Core i3-330M mit 2,13 GHz, HyperThreading und 3MB Cache.

Die Sandy Bridge Doppelkernprozessoren beinhalten im angegebenen TDP von 35 Watt auch die Grafikkarte und den Speicherkontroller. Mit 35W TDP eignet sich der Prozessor am besten für 14" Notebooks und größer.
