Die Nvidia GeForce GT 330M ist eine DirectX 10.1 fähige Grafikkarte für  Mittelklasse Notebooks und die Nachfolgekarte der GT 230M. Sie basiert auf den selben GT216 Kern, ist jedoch minimal höher getaktet als die GeForce GT 240M. Daher ist die Leistung dementsprechend knapp oberhalb anzusiedeln. Durch den weiterentwickelten 40nm Prozess (und der Namensgebung) dürfte der Stromverbrauch jedoch in Regionen der GT 230M bleiben.

Der GT216 Kern basiert laut Nvidia auf die High-End Desktop Architektur (GTX 200) und hat daher auch einige Verbesserungen gegenüber der Vorgängergeneration. Weiters wurde die Micro-Architektur verbessert um Akkulaufzeit und Performance zu steigern.

Die GeForce GT330M unterstützt die Videodekodierung im Grafikchip mittels PureVideo HD. Der verbaute Video Processor 4 (VP4) unterstützt das  vollständige Dekodieren von H.264, VC-1, MPEG-2, und jetzt auch MPEG-4 ASP (DivX oder xVID). Nur MPEG-1 wird nicht unterstützt (jedoch ist der Decodieraufwand hier minimal). Im Test decodierte die GT 330M mit einem Core i5-520M im Sony Z11 H.264 mit 1-6%, VC-1 mit 5-10% und WMV mit 3-9% CPU Last (1080p über HDMI).

Wie auch bei der alten 9700M GTS übernehmen 48 so genannte Stream Prozessoren die anstehende Grafikarbeit (die früher die Pixel und Vertex Shader übernommen haben). Der Vorteil ist, daß es theortisch keinen Leerlauf der ALUs mehr gibt. Die Streamprozessoren sind bei NVIDIA 1-dimensional (1D) und können pro Takt eine Skalaroperation mit einer MADD- (Addition und Multiplikation) und MUL-Anweisung (Multiplikation) durführen. Ausserdem taktet NVIDIA die Shader-ALUs höher als den restlichen Chip (1100 versus 500 MHz).

Dank CUDA, DirectX Compute, OpenCL und PhysX Support können die Stream Prozessoren auch für andere Anwendungen (Video Kodierung, Physikeffekte, ...) eingesetzt werden und sind bei solchen Spezialanwendungen deutlich schneller als gängige Hauptprozessoren (durch die hohe Anzahl an Shadern die parallel arbeiten).

Moderne und anspruchsvolle DirectX 10 Spiele (wie Crysis oder Risen) laufen auf der GT 330M mit mittleren Details bei mittleren Auflösungen flüssig. Für hohe Details und DirectX 10 Effekte reicht hier die Leistung nicht aus. Weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie Sims3 laufen auch mit hohen Detail-Einstellungen flüssig. Verglichen mit der Mobility Radeon HD 5650, zieht die GT 330M den Kürzeren und beherrscht auch keine DirectX 11 Effekte.

Bei Verwendung des langsamer getakteten GDDR2 Speichers ist die Grafikleistung etwa 20% niedriger als bei GDDR3 (jedoch sinkt auch der Stromverbrauch um etwa 2 Watt). Eventuell kann auch DDR2 Desktopspeicher mit noch größeren Performanceeinbußen eingesetzt werden. Bei Einsatz von DDR3 ist die maximale Taktrate 1066 MHz, bei GDDR3 800MHz (Speichertakt). GDDR3 Varianten sollten trotzdem minimal schneller sein.

Eine "low power" Variante der 330M mit geringfügig niedrigeren Taktraten und weniger Stromverbrauch ist ebenfalls für die Notebookhersteller erhältlich mit dem Codenamen N11P-LP.

Die Nvidia GeForce GT 325M ist eine DirectX 10.1 fähige Grafikkarte für  Mittelklasse Notebooks und wahrscheinlich abgespeckte GT 330M. Die Taktung der Grafikkarte liegt minimal unterhalb der GT 230M, jedoch wird schneller getakteter Speicher unterstützt. Daher dürfte die Leistung auf dem Niveau der GT 230M liegen.

Der GT216 Kern basiert laut Nvidia auf die High-End Desktop Architektur (GTX 200) und hat daher auch einige Verbesserungen gegenüber der Vorgängergeneration. Weiters wurde die Micro-Architektur verbessert um Akkulaufzeit und Performance zu steigern.

Die GeForce GT325M unterstützt die Videodekodierung im Grafikchip (PureVideo HD mit VP4?) für weniger CPU Belastung bei HD Dekodierung und Hybrid SLI (HybridPower und GeForceBoost) hinzugefügt (nur in Verbindung mit einem aktuellen Nvidia Chipsatz).
