Der Mediatek MT6735P ist ein 2014 vorgestellter ARM-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) der Mittelklasse, der primär in Smartphones (hauptsächlich Android) zu finden ist. Er wird in 28 Nanometern gefertigt und verfügt über vier CPU-Kerne auf Basis der 64-Bit-fähigen Cortex-A53-Architektur, die mit maximal 1 GHz takten. Als Grafikeinheit kommt eine ARM Mali-T720 zum Einsatz. Weiterhin integriert sind unter anderem ein Cat.4 LTE-Modem inkl. CDMA2000 sowie ein Video-De- und Encoder für 30fps 1080p Videos. Im Vergleich zum Mediatek MT6735 ist die "P"-Version deutlich geringer getaktet (1 versus 1,5 GHz).

Prozessor

Der Cortex-A53 kann als Nachfolger des beliebten Cortex-A7-Designs betrachtet werden. Neben der von 32 auf 64 Bit verbreiterten Prozessorarchitektur (ARMv8-ISA), die unter anderem die Adressierung von mehr als 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher erlaubt, wurden auch weitere Details wie die Sprungvorhersage optimiert. Insgesamt steigt die Pro-MHz-Leistung dadurch deutlich an und liegt sogar etwas oberhalb eines Cortex-A9-Kernes. Die vier Kerne des MT6732 takten mit bis zu 1 GHz, sodass der SoC deutlich schwächer ist als die meisten anderen Prozessoren mit Cortex-53 Kernen die mit meist rund um 1,5 GHz takten (z.b. MT6735).

Übliche Alltagsanwendungen wie Browsing bewältigt der Chip mit noch zufriedenstellender Geschwindigkeit.

Grafikeinheit

Die im SoC integrierte ARM Mali-T720 GPU ordnet sich in der Einstiegsklasse ein und bietet im MT6735P anscheinend nur einen Cluster, der mit bis zu 600 MHz getaktet werden kann (laut ARM, 450 MHz sind auch möglich). Übliche Android-Spiele werden auf Displays geringer bis mittlerer Auflösung zumeist flüssig wiedergegeben.

Features

Neben CPU und Grafikeinheit integriert der Chip auch einen Speichercontroller (32 Bit LPDDR3, 6,4 GB/s), diverse Funkmodule (WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS) sowie ein Mobilfunkmodem (GSM, UMTS, GPRS, HSPA+, HSUPA, TD-SCDMA, EVDO, LTE Cat 4). Die integrierte Videoengine bewältigt 1080p HD-Videos mit 30 fps. Kameras werden bis zu einer Auflösung von 13 Megapixeln unterstützt.

Leistungsaufnahme

Der MT6732P wird in 28-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt und sollte unter Last eine niedrige Leistungsaufnahme aufweisen. Damit ist der Chip auch für kleinere Smartphones geeignet.

Mediatek Helio P23 MT6763T

Der Mediatek Helio P23MT6763T ist ein in 2017 vorgestellter Mittelklasse Octacore für Android basierte Smartphones und Tablets. Er integriert 8 ARM Cortex-A53 Kerne in zwei Clustern. Die vier Kerne im Stromsparcluster takten mit bis zu 1,65 GHz, die vier Kerne im Performance Cluster mit bis zu 2,3 GHz (bzw. 2,5 GHz ein einzelner Kern). Die Kerne können dank Heterogeneous Multi-Processing bzw. big.LITTLE auch alle gemeinsam genutzt werden. Die integrierte Grafikkarte ist eine ARM Mali-G71 MP2 (2 Kerne) welche mit 770 MHz in der T-Variante getaktet wird. Der integrierte Speicherkontroller unterstützt LPDDR4x (Dual Channel?) mit 1500 MHz bzw LPDDR3 (Single Channel) mit 933 MHz. Drahtlose Technologien werden LTE Cat-7 DL / Cat-13 UL (Dual SIM) und 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN unterstützt. Der Festspeicher kann mit eMMC 5.1 angeschlossen werden. Die integrierte Videoengine unterstützt Encoding und Wiedergabe von H.264 und die Wiedergabe von H.265/HEVC.

Der Mediatek Helio P25 ist ein ab Q1 2017 vorgestellter ARM-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) der oberen Mittelklasse, der sowohl in Smartphones als auch Tablets (hauptsächlich Android) eingesetzt werden kann. Er wird in 16 FinFET+ Nanometern gefertigt und verfügt über acht CPU-Kerne auf Basis der 64-Bit-fähigen Cortex-A53-Architektur, die mit maximal 2,6 GHz takten (Performance Cluster mit 4 Kernen). Im Vergleich zum Helio P20, takten die vier Performance-Kerne um 400 Mhz höher. Der Stromspar Cluster mit ebenfalls vier Kernen taktet mit maximal 1,6 GHz. Beide Cluster unterstützen Heterogeneous Multi-Processing und können daher gleichzeitig laufen. Die Grafikeinheit namens ARM Mali-T880 MP2 bietet zwei Cluster bei 1000 MHz. Weiterhin integriert sind ist ein LTE-Cat-6-Modem.

Prozessor
