Der AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile P540 ist ein Doppelkernprozessor für Notebooks basierend auf der selben Architektur wie der Desktop Athlon II (durch den fehlenden Level 3 Cache). Der Prozessor hat einen Dual-Channel 533 MHz DDR3 Speicherkontroller integriert und kommuniziert mit einem 1800 MHz 16-Bit HyperTransport 3.0 Link nach aussen. Hergestellt wird der Turion II P540 in einem 45nm SOI Prozess.

Die Performance des P540 ist im Schnitt vergleichbar mit einem Core 2 Duo bei gleicher Taktfrequenz und Cachegröße. Da jedoch die meisten Core 2 Duo mit 2.4 GHz bereits deutlich mehr Level 2 Cache aufweisen, liegt der Turion P450 unter den Intel Pendants.

Hergestellt wird der Turion II P520 in einem 45nm SOI Prozess.

Im Cinebench 10 32 Bit Benchmark ist er im Mehrkerntest etwa so schnell wie ein Core 2 Duo T4300 (2.1 GHz). Im wPrime kann er etwas besser punkten und plaziert sich auf Niveau eines 2.3 GHz Core 2 Duo. Je nach Benchmark liegt die CPU also anscheinend etwas unterhalb bzw. gleichauf mit einem gleichgetakteten Core 2 Duo (und ähnlich viel Cache).
