Für CAD und für professionelle 3D Anwendungen optimierte Version der 7900 GS Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Technisch gleicher oder ähnlicher Chip (G71 Architektur), jedoch mit anderem Bios und Support für professionelle Treiber.

Die Treiber der Quadro FX Serie sind zertifiziert für CAD Anwendungen (z.B. AutoCad, Inventor, Solidstation, Solid Edge, ...) und DCC Anwendungen (z.B. Maya, 3DS Max, Lightwave 3D, ...) und bieten eine 12-Bit-Präzision für Subpixel, Vollbild-Antialiasing, Hardwarebeschleunigtes Antialiasing für Punkte und Linien und weitere für CAD und DCC optimierte Einstellungen.

Mit den mitgelieferten Treibern deutlich schlechtere Spieleperformance als die 7900 GS (wg der Anwendungsoptimierungen). Jedoch lassen sich meist gemoddete Treiber aufspielen, die die Quadro FX 1500M zu einer 7900 GS macht (für das Betriebssystem).
