Der AMD Ryzen 5 4600U ist ein Mobilprozessor für kleine und leichte Notebooks basierend auf die Renoir Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet sechs Zen 2 Kerne (Hexa-Core CPU) (mit SMT/Hyperthreading = 12 Threads) welche mit bis zu 4 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo). Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und soll laut AMD eine 2x verbesserte Performance pro Watt bieten als die Ryzen 3000 APUs (z.B. den Ryzen 5 3500U Vorgänger).

Im Vergleich zum schnelleren Ryzen 7 4800U, bietet der Ryzen 5 4600U zwei Kerne weniger und einen 200 MHz geringeren Boost-Takt, jedoch einen höheren Basistakt. Die Leistung sollte durch die zusätzlichen Kerne und hohe Taktfrequenzen aber deutlich oberhalb des alten Spitzenmodells Ryzen 7 3700U liegen.

Der SoC integriert neben den sechs Prozessorkernen noch eine Radeon RX Vega 6 Grafikkarte mit 6 CUs und bis zu 1500 MHz Takt, einen Dual-Channel DDR4-3200 / LPDDR4-4266 Speicherkontroller und 8 MB Level 3 Cache. Der TDP ist laut AMD von 10 - 25 Watt konfigurierbar (15 Watt Default). Daher ist der Chip auch für kleine und leichte Notebooks geeignet.

Der AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS ist ein Mobilprozessor für große Notebooks (z.B. Gaming-Laptops) basierend auf die Renoir Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet acht Zen 2 Kerne (Octa-Core CPU) welche mit bis zu 3 - 4,3 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (16 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und soll laut AMD eine 2x verbesserte Performance pro Watt bieten als die Ryzen 3000 APUs (z.B. den Ryzen 7 3750H Vorgänger).

Im Vergleich zum Ryzen 7 4800HS, bietet der Ryzen 9 4900HS eine 100 MHz höhere Taktfrequenz (+2% Turbo). Nach ersten Informationen ist der Geschwindigkeitszuwachs in Notebooks im Vergleich zum 4800HS jedoch relativ gering. Hier limitiert wahrscheinlich bereits TDP und die Kühllösung. Im Vergleich zu Intels Mobilprozessoren, sollte der Ryzen 9 4900HS sich in vergleichbaren Performanceregionen wie der 9980HK einordnen.

Der TDP der HS-Modelle ist 10 Watt geringer als bei den H Modellen und damit auf 35 Watt spezifiziert. Daher ist der Chip für große und schwere Notebooks vorgesehen und benötigt, trotz des effizienten 7nm Herstellungsprozesses, eine gute Kühlung um die Leistung auch dauerhaft zu erbringen.

AMD Ryzen 7 4800HS

Der AMD Ryzen 7 4800HS ist ein Mobilprozessor für große Notebooks (z.B. Gaming-Laptops) basierend auf die Renoir Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet acht Zen 2 Kerne (Octa-Core CPU) welche mit bis zu 4,2 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (16 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und soll laut AMD eine 2x verbesserte Performance pro Watt bieten als die Ryzen 3000 APUs (z.B. den Ryzen 7 3750H Vorgänger). 

Laut AMD ist der Ryzen 7 4800H (und damit der HS in etwa) um 5% schneller als ein Intel Core i7-9750H im Einzelkernbenchmark des Cinebench R20 und 46% schneller im Multikernbenchmark. Damit würde sich die CPU zwischen dem Intel Core i9-9880H und 9980HK an der Spitze von mobilen Prozessoren einordnen. Damit eignet sie sich auch für anspruchsvolle Anforderungen sehr gut. Laut Asus (die den Chip exklusiv für die ersten Monate einsetzen), ist die Performance vergleichbar mit dem Ryzen 7 4800H.

Im Vergleich zum Ryzen 7 4800H, bietet der 4800HS einen um 10 Watt geringeren TDP (35 versus 45 W) bei sonst gleichen Spezifikationen. Daher ist der Chip für große und schwere Notebooks vorgesehen und benötigt, trotz des effizienten 7nm Herstellungsprozesses, eine gute Kühlung um die Leistung auch dauerhaft zu erbringen.
