Der AMD Ryzen 7 4700U ist ein Mobilprozessor für kleine und leichte Notebooks basierend auf die Renoir Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet acht Zen 2 Kerne (Octa-Core CPU) (ohne SMT/Hyperthreading = 8 Threads) welche mit bis zu 4,1 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo). Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und soll laut AMD eine 2x verbesserte Performance pro Watt bieten als die Ryzen 3000 APUs (z.B. den Ryzen 5 3500U Vorgänger).

Im Vergleich zum schnelleren Ryzen 7 4800U, bietet der Ryzen 7 4700U einen 100 MHz geringeren Boost-Takt, jedoch einen höheren Basistakt. Dafür können nur 8 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeitet werden (kein SMT). Die Leistung sollte dadurch im Schnitt leicht unterhalb des Ryzen 7 4800U angesiedelt sein (bei gleicher Kühlung und TDP-Einstellungen). Im Cinebench R20 sollte er daher vergleichbar mit dem Intel Core i7-1065G7 sein, und Multithreaded deutlich schneller (siehe AMD Benchmarks des Ryzen 7 4800U).

Der SoC integriert neben den acht Prozessorkernen noch eine Radeon RX Vega 7 Grafikkarte mit 7 CUs und bis zu 1600 MHz Takt, einen Dual-Channel DDR4-3200 / LPDDR4-4266 Speicherkontroller und 8 MB Level 3 Cache. Der TDP ist laut AMD von 10 - 25 Watt konfigurierbar (15 Watt Default). Daher ist der Chip auch für kleine und leichte Notebooks geeignet.

Im Vergleich zum schnelleren Ryzen 7 4800U, bietet der Ryzen 5 4600U zwei Kerne weniger und einen 200 MHz geringeren Boost-Takt, jedoch einen höheren Basistakt. Die Leistung sollte durch die zusätzlichen Kerne und hohe Taktfrequenzen aber deutlich oberhalb des alten Spitzenmodells Ryzen 7 3700U liegen.

Der SoC integriert neben den sechs Prozessorkernen noch eine Radeon RX Vega 6 Grafikkarte mit 6 CUs und bis zu 1500 MHz Takt, einen Dual-Channel DDR4-3200 / LPDDR4-4266 Speicherkontroller und 8 MB Level 3 Cache. AMD Ryzen 5 4600HS

Der AMD Ryzen 5 4600HS ist ein Mobilprozessor für große Notebooks (z.B. Gaming-Laptops) basierend auf die Renoir Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet sechs Zen 2 Kerne (Hexa-Core CPU) welche mit bis zu 4 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (12 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und soll laut AMD eine 2x verbesserte Performance pro Watt bieten als die Ryzen 3000 APUs (z.B. den Ryzen 5 3550H Vorgänger).

Durch die zwei deaktivierten Kerne und dem geringeren Turbo-Takt, sollte der Ryzen 5 4600HS deutlich hinter dem Ryzen 7 4800HS zurückbleiben. Das alte Spitzenmodell Ryzen 7 3750H sollte aber deutlich abgehängt werden. Verglichen mit Intel Prozessoren, gehen wir mit einer ähnlichen Performance wie der Core i7-8850H (6-Kerne, 2,6 - 4,3 GHz) aus. Laut Asus soll die Performance des HS-Modells sehr ähnlich zu dem Ryzen 5 4600H mit 10 Watt höherem TDP ausfallen.

Im Vergleich zum Ryzen 5 4600H, bietet der 4600HS einen um 10 Watt geringeren TDP (35 versus 45 W) bei sonst gleichen Spezifikationen. Daher ist der Chip für große und schwere Notebooks vorgesehen und benötigt, trotz des effizienten 7nm Herstellungsprozesses, eine gute Kühlung um die Leistung auch dauerhaft zu erbringen.
