Der AMD Ryzen 7 5800X ist ein Desktop-Prozessor mit 8-Kernen und Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT), weshalb dieser 16 Threads gleichzeitig verarbeiten kann. Mit dem Launch am 08.10.2020 ist er der schnellste 8-Kern-Prozessor aus dem Hause AMD. Zweitschnellster 8-Kern-Prozssor wird somit der AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT, gefolgt von dem etwas sparsameren AMD Ryzen 7 3700X mit ebenfalls 8 Kernen und 16 Threads.

Der Ryzen 7 5800X taktet mit einem Basistakt von 3,8 GHz und erreicht im Turbo bis zu 4,7 GHz auf einem Kern. Bei Auslastung aller 8 Kerne schafft der AMD Ryzen 7 5800X ebenso wie der AMD Ryzen 9 5900X bis zu 4,5 GHz.

Die Leistung des AMD Ryzen 7 5800X ist durchweg bei allen Anwendungen sehr gut. Vor allem bei Multi-Thread-Anwendungen kann der native 8-Kerner seine Stärken ausspielen, wenngleich aber auch die Single-Core-Performance im Vergleich zur älteren Zen-2-Architektur deutlich verbessert werden konnte.

Der interne Aufbau des Prozessors hat sich auf den ersten Blick nicht grundlegend verändert. Der CCX-Aufbau hat sich im Vergleich zu Zen2 etwas verändert, denn nun beisteht ein CCX aus bis zu 8-CPU-Kernen. Somit kann jeder einzelne Kern auf den kompletten L3-Cache (32 MByte) zugreifen. Weiterhin werden die CCX-Module über den gleichen I/O-Die miteinander verbunden, welchen wir auch schon von Zen2 her kennen. Die Infinity-Fabric soll laut AMD aber nun Taktraten von bis zu 2Ghz erreichen, was im Umkehrschluss einen RAM-Takt von 4.000 MHz ohne Performanceverlust ermöglicht.

Bei den Fertigungsverfahren setzt AMD auch bei den Vermeer-Prozessoren auf TSCM für die 7nm-Fertigung der CPU-Kerne, wenngleich der I/O-Die weiterhin in 12 nm von Gobalfoundries geliefert wird. 

Bei Spielen kann der AMD Ryzen 7 5800X dank der deutlich verbesserten IPC überzeugen und sogar Intel in die Schranken weisen. Mit dem AMD Ryzen 7 5800X sind Gamer vor allem auch für die Zukunft gut gerüstet denn auch gleichzeitiges Streamen ist mit dem neuen Ryzen 7 5800X kein Problem. Semiprofessionelle Content-Creator, welche noch mehr Leistung benötigen, können im Regal auch zu einem Ryzen 9 5900X oder gleich zum Ryzen 9 5950X greifen.

Der AMD Ryzen 5 5600X ist ein Desktop-Prozessor mit 6-Kernen und Hyperthreading (SMT). Somit kann der Prozessor insgesamt 12 Threads gleichzeitig verarbeiten. Mit dem Launch im November 2020 ist er der schnellste Ryzen Desktop-Prozessor mit 6 Kernen. Mit einer TDP von 65 Watt ist der Ryzen 5 5600X bislang das sparsamste Modell der neuen Zen-3-Familie. 

Der Ryzen 5 5600X taktet mit 3,7 GHz Basistakt und kann per Precision-Boost 2 auf bis zu 4,6 GHz takten.
