Der AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS ist ein Mobilprozessor für große Notebooks (z.B. Gaming Laptops) basierend auf die Cezanne Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet acht Zen 3 Kerne (Octa-Core CPU) welche mit bis zu 4,6 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (16 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und soll Anfang 2021 vorgestellt werden. Die HS-Version ist im Vergleich zum normalen 5900HX (35-52 W) auf 35 Watt TDP limitiert.

Die neue Zen 3 Microarchitektur bringt im Desktop laut AMD eine um 19% höhere IPC (Instructions per Clock) Performance. In Anwendungs-Tests bei gleichem Takt waren es meist gegen 12%, bei Spielen noch deutlich mehr. 

Der SoC integriert neben den acht Prozessorkernen noch eine Radeon RX Vega 8 Grafikkarte mit 8 CUs und bis zu 2000 MHz Takt, einen Dual-Channel DDR4-3200 / LPDDR4-4200 Speicherkontroller und 16 MB Level 3 Cache. 

Der TDP ist beim HS auf 35 Watt spezifiziert (5900HX bis zu 54 Watt).

Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und soll Anfang 2021 vorgestellt werden.

Die HS-Version ist im Vergleich zum normalen 5800H (35-52 W) auf 35 Watt TDP limitiert (cTDP down, selber Chip).
