Der AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 6950H ist ein Mobilprozessor für große Notebooks (z.B. Workstation Laptops) basierend auf die Rembrandt Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet acht Zen 3+ Kerne (Octa-Core CPU) welche mit bis zu 4,9 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (16 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 6nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und wurde im April 2022 vorgestellt. Im Vergleich zum Consumer Ryzen 9 6900HX, bietet der PRO 6950H keine Übertaktungsfunktionen aber zusätzliche Managemen und Sicherheitsfunktionen (Microsoft Pluton Security Prozessor).

Die neuen Rembrandt APUs bieten einige Neuerungen, wie Support für USB4 mit 40 Gbps, PCI-E Gen 4, DDR5-4800MT/s bzw LPDDR5-6400MT/s, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth LE 5.2, DisplayPort 2 und AV1 Decode in Hardware.

Die CPU Leistung ist pro Takt vergleichbar mit den alten Ryzen 5000 APUs, dank des neuen 6nm Prozess sind die CPUs aber höher getaktet und dadurch etwas schneller. Die neuen Alder Lake-H Modelle (wie der i9-12900HK sollten durch die höhere Kernanzahl aber noch eine bessere Multi-Threaded-Performance zeigen). Durch den um 100 MHz reduzierten Turbo-Takt, sollte die Performance nur knapp hinter dem Spitzenmodell Ryzen 9 6980HX liegen.

Eine besondere Neuheit ist die aktualisierte Grafikkarte namens Radeon 680M, die nun endlich auf die aktuelle RDNA2-Architektur basiert und im 6950H 12 CUs mit bis zu 2,4 GHz Takt bietet.

Der TDP ist weiterhin mit 45 Watt spezifiziert.

Intel Core i9-12900H

Der Intel Core i9-12900H ist eine High-End-CPU auf Basis der neuen Alder-Lake-Architektur, die im Januar 2022 vorgestellt wurde. Die CPU basiert auf den Alder Lake-P Chip (für H und P-Serie) und bietet alle 6 Performance Kerne (P-Kerne, Golden Cove Architektur) und 8 Effizienzkerne (E-Kerne, Gracemont Architektur). Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 20 Threads) und takten von 2,5 bis 5 GHz. Die E-Kerne takten von 1,8 - 3,8 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6920HQ). Im Vergleich zum 12900HK bietet der 12900H keinen freien Multiplikator, aber unterstützt das volle "Enterprise" Feature-Set von vPro (Management Features).

Performance

Im Vergleich zum Intel Core i9-11980HK (Tiger Lake-H mit 8 Kernen) kann der 12900H in allen Bereichen punkten. Die neuen Golden Cove Kerne bieten eine leicht höhere Single Thread Performance und dank der gesamt 14 Kerne können Multi-Thread-Anwendungen deutlich beschleunigt werden. Intel gibt z.b. bei Spielen eine 13% höhere Performance an (1080p high) und bei Blender Rendering 30% weniger Renderzeit (BMW Car Demo).

Grafikeinheit

Wie auch der Vorgänger, integriert Intel in Alder Lake eine Intel Xe basierende Grafikeinheit. Beim 12900H sind alle 96 EUs aktiviert und takten mit bis zu 1,45 GHz.

Features

Wie auch Tiger Lake, hat auch Alder-Lake-P WiFi 6E und Thunderbolt 4 (4x) teilintegriert. Der integrierte Speicherkontroller unterstützt DDR5-4800, DDR4-3200, LPDDR5-5200 und LPDDR4x-4267. Der integrierte Gaussian and Neural Accelerator (GNA) ist nun in Version 3.0 verbaut. Die Media Engine Quick Sync 8 ist die selbe wie in Rocket Lake und unterstützt MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1 Decode, JPEG, VP8 Decode, VP9, HEVC und AV1 Decode. Der Chip unterstützt nur PCIe 4.0 (x8 for GPU und zwei x4 für SSDs).

Leistungsaufnahme

Der Intel Core i9-12900H ist mit 45 Watt TDP angegeben (115W PL2). Bei geringer Last, sollte der Stromverbrauch dank der sparsamen Gracemont Kerne sehr gut sein. Gefertigt wird der 12900H im modernen Intel 7 Prozess (10 nm).

AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850HS

Der AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850HS ist ein Mobilprozessor für große Notebooks (z.B. Gaming Laptops) basierend auf die Rembrandt Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet acht Zen 3+ Kerne (Octa-Core CPU) welche mit 3,2 GHz (garantierter Basistakt) bis zu 4,7 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (16 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 6nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und wurde im April 2022 vorgestellt. Als HS-Variante ist der TDP um 10W reduziert und dadurch eignet sich die CPU für dünnere Notebooks. Im Vergleich zum Consumer Ryzen 7 6800HS, bietet der 6850HS zusätzliche Management und Security Features wie den Microsoft Pluton Security Prozessor.

Im Vergleich zum ähnlichen R7 6800H (45W, Übertaktung möglich), ist die Leistung bei längeren Lasten durch den verringerten TDP beim 6850HS limitiert.

Eine besondere Neuheit ist die aktualisierte Grafikkarte namens Radeon 680M, die nun endlich auf die aktuelle RDNA2-Architektur basiert und im 6850HS 12 CUs mit bis zu 2,2 GHz Takt bietet.

Der TDP ist mit 35 Watt spezifiziert, wodurch sich die CPU auch für dünnere Notebooks eignet.
