Die AMD Radeon R9 M365X ist eine 2015 vorgestellte DirectX-12-Grafikkarte der Mittelklasse für Notebooks. Sie basiert auf der GCN-Architektur (28 Nanometer) und ähnelt technisch der älteren, etwas niedriger getakteten Radeon R9 M270.

Architektur

Der Grafikchip der R9 M365X verfügt über 640 Shadereinheiten (oder 10 Compute Cores CU) und wird mit maximal 925 MHz getaktet. Laut AMD Webseite unterstützt die GPU 4 GB GDDR5 mit 1125 MHz (4 GHz effektiv) mit einem 128 Bit Speicherbus. Bis jetzt setzt jedoch nur Toshiba die Grafikkarte ein und bietet nur 2 GB GDDR5.

Performance

Die Leistung der Radeon R9 M365X sollte sehr ähnlich der R9 M370X (siehe für Gaming Benchmarks) sein, die ähnliche Spezifikationen bietet.

Die AMD Radeon R9 M380 ist eine dedizierte Mittelklasse Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Sie basiert auf einen 28nm GCN Grafikkern mit 12 Compute Units und GDDR5 Grafikspeicher. Trotz des ähnlichen Namens, ist sie deutlich schneller als die R7 M380 (2 weniger Compute Units, DDR3 Grafikspeicher).

Features

Das Featureset der AMD Radeon R9 M380 umfasst u.a. die sog. „Eyefinity“ Technologie, die je nach Schnittstellen Gegebenheiten die Nutzung von bis zu 6 Bildschirmen simultan ermöglicht.

Aus Effizienzgründen kann die Mittelklasse GPU zusätzlich mit der „Enduro“ Technologie aufwarten, die quasi das Pendant zu Nvidias „Optimus“ darstellt und im Idle-Betrieb oder bei Niedriglastaufgaben (Office, Internet etc.) die GPU zugunsten der CPU-Grafikeinheit deaktiviert, um Strom zu sparen.

Für Spieler stellt AMD in der M380 seine Grafikschnittstelle „Mantle“ zur Verfügung. Diese vom Unternehmen selbst entwickelte Programmierschnittstelle für Grafikausgaben stellt ein Alternativmodell zu Direct3D oder OpenGL dar und soll in zukünftigen Spielen und Anwendungen zunehmend unterstützt werden. Unter anderen unterstützen bereits Titel, wie Battlefield 4, Thief oder Die Sims 4 die Mantle- Schnittstelle.

Mit „App Acceleration“ stattet AMD die Radeon M380 zudem mit einem Technologiepaket zur Verbesserung der Videoqualität und Steigerung der Anwendungsleistung aus. Um alle beschriebenen Funktionen zu nutzen, ist jedoch eine Unterstützung für OpenCL, DirectCompute oder DirectX Videobeschleunigung (DXVA) erforderlich.

Die AMD Radeon R9 M375 ist eine im Mitte 2015 vorgestellte DirectX 12 fähige Notebook-Grafikkarte der Mittelklasse. Sie basiert auf der GCN (Graphics Core Next)-Architektur und wird im 28- Nanometer-Prozess gefertigt. Im Vergleich zur ähnlich schnell getakteten Radeon R9 M275 bietet die M375 jedoch nur DDR3 Grafikspeicher laut AMD.

Architektur

Der Grafikprozessor basiert entweder auf den alten GCN 1.0 Cape Verde Chip oder bereits auf einen kleineren Ableger des neuen Tonga Chips und bietet daher Features wie DirectX 12 (FL 11_1), Vulkan und FreeSync.

Leistung

Durch den langsamen DDR3-Grafikspeicher erreicht die R9 M375 trotz hoher Shader-Power nur etwa das Niveau einer GeForce 940M. Dadurch sind anspruchsvolle Spiele aus 2015 nur in niedrigen bis mittleren Detailstufen flüssig spielbar.
