AMD Radeon RX 460 (Laptop)

Die AMD Radeon RX 460 Notebook (bzw. Mobile RX 460M) ist eine Laptop-Grafikkarte basierend auf den Polaris-10-Chip. Wie die Desktop RX 460 bietet die Laptop-Variante 896 Shader bei minimal reduzierten Taktraten (1180 versus 1200 MHz Boost). Der Boost-Takt kann jedoch eventuell aufgrund schlechterer Kühlung weniger lange gehalten werden.

AMD veröffentlichte bis jetzt nur einige Benchmarks im Zuge der Präsentation der Desktop RX 460. Laut diesen Tests ist die Karte 0-8% langsamer als das Desktop Pendant. Dadurch dürften die Spezifikationen ähnlich sein. Der Polaris-10-Chip wird bei GlobalFoundries in 14nm FinFET produziert und ist der kleinere der beiden Polars Chips.

Die Desktop RX 460 (siehe für Gaming Benchmarks) reiht sich in unseren Tests (leicht übertaktetes XFX Modell) leicht oberhalb der GeForce GTX 965M (Refresh Anfang 2016) ein. Dadurch sollte sich der mobile Ableger etwas darunter auf dem Niveau der alten 965M positionieren.

Die mobile RX 460 sollte alle Features der Desktop RX 460 unterstützen, so wie DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, neue H.265 Video-En- und Decoder und Architekturverbesserungen.

Der Stromverbrauch sollte etwas geringer als bei der Desktop RX 460 liegen (selektierte Chips, verringerte Taktrate?). Diese ist auf 75 Watt TDP spezifiziert.

 

 

 

AMD Radeon Pro 450

Die AMD Radeon Pro 450 ist eine mobile Grafikkarte basierend auf den kleinen Polaris 11 Chip von AMD. Sie wird im 15-Zoll-MacBook-Pro von Apple verbaut (Late 2016) und ist wahrscheinlich eine abgespeckte Radeon RX 460 (siehe für Benchmarks und Specs). Der Polaris 11 Chip wird bei GlobalFoundries in 14nm FinFET produziert und ist der kleinere der beiden Polars Chips. Die Shader wurden deutlich von den 896 Shadern der RX 460 (bzw 1024 der Pro 460) auf 640 beschnitten. AMD gibt nur 1 TFLOPS als "Peak Performance" für die Radeon Pro 450 an. Die 455 bietet 30% mehr, die 460 86% mehr. Die RX 460 ist jedoch mit 2,2 TFLOPS spezifziert und daher deutlich schneller als alle drei.

Ausgeliefert wird die Pro450 mit lediglich 2 GB GDDR5 Grafikspeicher, das bei Spielen zu wenig sein könnte.

In unseren Benchmarks mit dem Basismodell des 15-Zoll-MacBook-Pro reiht sich die Pro 450 knapp oberhalb der von uns getesteten GeForce GTX 950M Modelle ein (im 3DMark11). Die Treiberunterstützung von Apple und AMD für Bootcamp ist leider sehr schlecht. Im April 2017 ist weiterhin nur der Launchtreiber 16.4 erhältlich. Abhilfe schafft hier BootcampDrivers.com, bei denen man modifizierte aktuelle Grafiktreiber herunterladen kann.

Die mobile Radeon Pro 450 sollte alle Features der Desktop RX 460 unterstützen, so wie DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, neue H.265 Video-En- und Decoder und Architekturverbesserungen. AMD gibt derzeit jedoch nur DisplayPort 1.2 und HDMI 2.0 via USB-C Adapter an.

Der Stromverbrauch der schnelleren Radeon Pro 460 ist laut AMD Blog Post bei 35 Watt (Power Envelope). Die Pro 450 sollte dadurch etwas weniger verbrauchen, durch die geringere Leistung.

AMD Radeon RX 490M

Die AMD Radeon RX 490M (früher als R9 M490 bekann)  ist eine mobile high-end Grafikkarte welche wahrscheinlich auf die neue Polaris Architektur in 14nm FinFET basiert. Bis jetzt ist sie nur im Treiber (siehe Videocardz.com) aufgetaucht und sollte Mitte 2016 vorgestellt werden. Bei der Energieeffizienz möchte AMD mit Polaris zu Nvidia aufholen. Daher sollte die M490 zumindest mit einer GeForce GTX 980M mithalten können.
