Der Intel Core i3-10100 ist ein Desktop-Prozessor mit vier Kernen auf Basis der Comet Lake S-Architektur. Der Prozessor taktet mit 3,6-4,3 GHz und kann insgesamt bis zu 8 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Gefertigt wird der Intel Core i3-10100 im verbesserten 14-nm-Prozess (14nm++). Im Vergleich zum älteren i3-9100 (Comet Lake-S) bietet der 10100 einen 100 MHz höheren Turbo-Takt, Multithreading und Support für schnelleren DDR4-2666 Speicher.

Performance

Die Leistung sollte nur leicht oberhalb des Core i3-9100 im Einstiegsbereich für Desktop-CPUs liegen. Dadurch reicht die Leistung für Office und anspruchsloses Gaming.

Grafikeinheit

Beim Intel Core i3-10100 handelt es sich um einen Prozessor mit integrierter Grafikeinheit (Intel UHD Graphics 630). 

Leistungsaufnahme

Intel beziffert die Thermal Design Power (TDP) auf 65 Watt. Somit Bedarf es keiner großen Kühlsysteme, was auch den Einbau in sehr kompakten Gehäusen ermöglicht.

Intel Core i7-10700

Der Intel Core i7-10700 ist eine High-End-CPU mit zehn Kernen auf Basis der neuen Comet-Lake-Architektur, die Ende April 2020 bereits angekündigt wurde. Der Prozessor taktet mit 2,9-4,8 GHz und kann dank Hyperthreading bis zu 16 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Gefertigt wird der Intel Core i7-10700 weiterhin im 14-nm-Prozess. Mit seiner geringen TDP (65 Watt) eignet sich dieser Prozessor für sehr kompakte Systeme. Auf einen freien Multiplikators zum Übertakten muss allerdings verzichtet werden.

Performance

Im Vergleich zum Intel Core i7-9700 bietet der Core i7-10700 nun Hyperthreading, was bei Multi-Thread-Anwendungen für einen ordentlichen Performance-Schub sorgt. Die Single-Core-Leistung bleibt nahezu unverändert auf dem Niveau des Vorgängers. Dank des Turbo Boost 3.0 kann der Intel Core i7-10700 bis zu 4,8 GHz auf einem Kern erreichen. Im Vergleich dazu kam der Core i7-9700 nur auf 4,7 GHz. Gleichwohl liegt der All-Core-Boost des Core i7-10700 noch bei 4,6 GHz. Allerdings spielen hierfür viele Faktoren eine Rolle (Art des Workloads, Anzahl aktiver CPU-Kerne, kalkulierte Stromstärke, kalkulierte Leistungsaufnahme, CPU-Temperatur).

Grafikeinheit

Wie schon zuvor bietet auch der Intel Core i7-10700 mit der Intel UHD Graphics 630 eine iGPU, welche sich aber aufgrund der geringen Leistung nicht für aufwendige Spiele eignet. Als Low-End-Lösung können aktuelle Videospiele, wenn überhaupt, lediglich in verminderter Detailstufe flüssig wiedergegeben werden. 

Leistungsaufnahme

Hier hat Intel deutliche Veränderungen vorgenommen und dem Intel Core i7-107000 einen Spielraum von bis zu 224 Watt (PL2) unter Volllast eingeräumt. Die angegebene TDP von 65 Watt (PL1) wird in den meisten Fällen fast immer überschritten, was an den geänderten PL2 (224 Watt) sowie dem Tau-Wert (28 Sekunden) liegt. Aufgrund der deutlich höheren Leistungsaufnahme sollte der Core i7-10700K mit einer leistungsstarken Kühlung verwendet werden.
