Der Intel Core i5-12450H ist eine Mid-Range-CPU auf Basis der neuen Alder-Lake-Architektur, die im Januar 2022 vorgestellt wurde. Die CPU basiert auf den Alder Lake-P Chip (für H und P-Serie) und bietet 4 der 6 Performance Kerne (P-Kerne, Golden Cove Architektur) und 4 der 8 Effizienzkerne (E-Kerne, Gracemont Architektur) für gesamt 8 Kerne (Octa-Core). Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 12 Threads) und takten von 2 bis 4,4 GHz. Die E-Kerne takten von 1,5 - 3,3 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6300HQ). Im Vergleich zum i5-12500H bietet der 12450 weniger Effizienzkerne, geringere Taktraten, eine schwächere iGPU und kein vPro.

Performance

Durch die Mischung aus P-Core und E-Cores sollte die Leistung in Multithreaded-Anwendungen vergleichbar sein mit ähnlich getakteten Tiger Lake-H CPUs und oberhalb der Tiger Lake 6-Kerner (wie i5-11500H) liegen. Bei der Einzelkernperformance dürfte der 12450H auch noch schneller sein, dank der neuen Architektur.

Grafikeinheit

Wie auch der Vorgänger, integriert Intel in Alder Lake eine Intel Xe basierende Grafikeinheit. Beim 12500H sind nur 48 der 96 EUs aktiviert und takten mit bis zu 1,2 GHz.

Features

Wie auch Tiger Lake, hat auch Alder-Lake-P WiFi 6E und Thunderbolt 4 (4x) teilintegriert. Der integrierte Speicherkontroller unterstützt DDR5-4800, DDR4-3200, LPDDR5-5200 und LPDDR4x-4267. Der integrierte Gaussian and Neural Accelerator (GNA) ist nun in Version 3.0 verbaut. Die Media Engine Quick Sync 8 ist die selbe wie in Rocket Lake und unterstützt MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1 Decode, JPEG, VP8 Decode, VP9, HEVC und AV1 Decode. Der Chip unterstützt nur PCIe 4.0 (x8 for GPU und zwei x4 für SSDs).

Leistungsaufnahme

Der Intel Core i5-12450H ist mit 45 Watt TDP angegeben (95W PL2). Bei geringer Last, sollte der Stromverbrauch dank der sparsamen Gracemont Kerne sehr gut sein. Gefertigt wird der i5-12450H im modernen Intel 7 Prozess (10 nm).

Intel Core i7-1280P

Der Intel Core i7-1280P ist eine High-End-CPU auf Basis der neuen Alder-Lake-Architektur, die im Januar 2022 vorgestellt wurde. der 1280P ist der schnellste Prozessor der P-Serie mit 28 Watt und sehr ähnlich zur 45W i7-12800H.

Die CPU basiert auf den Alder Lake-P Chip (für H und P-Serie) und bietet alle 6 Performance Kerne (P-Kerne, Golden Cove Architektur) und 8 Effizienzkerne (E-Kerne, Gracemont Architektur). Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 20 Threads) und takten von 2,4 bis 4,8 GHz. Die E-Kerne takten von 1,8 - 3,7 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6920HQ). Wie auch der Core i7-12800H bietet der i7-1280P ebenfalls das volle "Enterprise"-Set von vPro.

Performance

Durch die 14 Kerne sollte die Multithread-Leistung deutlich oberhalb der alten Tiger-Lake-H35-4-Kerner (z.B. i7-11375H) liegen und bei kurzer Last auch mit dem 45W Core i7-12800H mithalten können. Bei längerer Last sollte jedoch das TDP-Limit und wahrscheinlich auch schwächere Kühlsysteme die Leistung deutlich limitieren.

Grafikeinheit

Wie auch der Vorgänger, integriert Intel in Alder Lake eine Intel Xe basierende Grafikeinheit. Beim 12800H sind alle 96 EUs aktiviert und takten mit bis zu 1,4 GHz.
