Der Intel Core i5-12600K ist ein topmoderner und sehr schneller Desktop Prozessor auf Basis der neuen Alder-Lake-Architektur, die im November 2021 vorgestellt wurde. Der Prozessor bietet einen Basistakt von 3,7 GHz und erreicht bis zu 4,9 GHz im Turbo. Anders als zuvor bietet der Prozessor P-Cores und E-Cores, welche insgesamt 16 Thread parallel verarbeiten können. Die Performance-Kerne (P-Cores) bieten hierzu Hyperthreading, was den energieeffizienten Kernen (E-Cores) vorenthalten wird. Außerdem setzt Intel nun auf den kleineren 10-nm-Fertigungsprozess. Der Intel Core i5-12600K bietet weiterhin einen freien Multiplikator, was das Übertakten deutlich vereinfacht. Als Basis dient der neue Z690-Chipsatz samt neuem LGA 1700 Sockel.

Performance

Im Vergleich zum Intel Core i5-11600K konnte die IPC beim neuen Core i5-12600K deutlich gesteigert werden. Das sorgt insgesamt für einen spürbaren Leistungsschub, der sich auch auf die Multi-Core-Leistung auswirkt. Durch die 4 E-Cores seht den P-Cores deutlich mehr Leistung zur Verfügung. Wenn alle Voraussetzungen erfüllt werden kann Intel Turbo Boost 3.0 den Takt der P-Cores auf bis zu 4,9 GHz erhöhen. Auch die E-Cores lassen sich übertakten und erreichen maximal 3,6 GHz. 

Grafikeinheit

Wie auch der Intel Core i5-11600K bietet der Intel Core i5-12600K eine integrierte Grafikeinheit. Als Basis dient weiterhin die Intel Iris XE-Architektur. Rein leistungstechnisch hat sich bei der neuen Intel UHD Graphics 770 aber nicht viel verändert. 

Leistungsaufnahme

Die TDP des Intel Core i5-12600K beläuft sich auf 125 Watt mit der Option im Turbo bis zu 150 Watt zu verbrauchen. Somit sinkt der Energiebedarf im Vergleich zur älteren Rocket Lake-S-Generation ein wenig.

Intel Core i7-12700K

Der Intel Core i7-12700K ist eine High-End-CPU auf Basis der aktuellen Alder-Lake-Architektur, die im November 2021 vorgestellt wurde. Der Basistakt beträgt 3,6 GHz und kann bei optimalen Bedingungen bis zu 5,0 GHz erreichen. Die insgesamt 20 Threads unterteilen sich in P-Cores und E-Cores, die mit der neuen Alder-Lake-Architektur Einzug halten. Dabei bieten die 8 Performance-Kerne (P-Cores) zudem Hyperthreading. Zudem kann das zweitschnellste Modell der neuen Architektur auf 4 energieeffiziente E-Cores setzten. Bei der Chipfertigung geht Intel nun endlich einen Schritt weiter und lässt die aktuellen Alder Lake-S Prozessoren in 10nm fertigen. Wie bereits seit einigen Generationen bekannt gibt es auch bei Alder Lake-S K- und non K-Modelle, welche einmal mit und einmal ohne die iGPU um die Gunst der Käufer buhlen. Für die neuen Alder-Lake-Prozessoren hält mit dem neuen Z690-Chipsatz samt neuem LGA1700 Sockel auch die Unterstützung von DDR5 und PCIe 5.0 Einzug.

Performance

Im Vergleich zum Intel Core i7-11700K bietet der Core i9-12700K weiterhin 8 Kerne, welche aber durch 4 weitere E-Cores bei anspruchsvollen Anwendungen entlastet werden sollen. Die E-Cores sollen sich in erster Linie um Hintergrundanwendungen kümmern. Die hybride Architektur vertraut dabei auf den Intel Thread Direktor, der für die richtige Zuteilung der Aufgaben zuständig ist. Im Vergleich zu Rocket-Lake konnte die IPC deutlich gesteigert werden. Dadurch profitiert auch die Multi-Core-Leistung, die durch die Implementierung der E-Cores zusätzlich bei hoher Last profitiert. Wenn alle Voraussetzungen erfüllt werden kann Intel Turbo Boost 3.0 den Takt der P-Cores auf bis zu 5,0 GHz erhöhen. Auch die E-Cores lassen sich übertakten und erreichen maximal 3,8 GHz. 

Grafikeinheit

Wie auch der Intel Core i7-11700K bietet der Intel Core i7-12700K eine integrierte Grafikeinheit. Als Basis dient weiterhin die Intel Iris XE-Architektur. Rein leistungstechnisch hat sich bei der neuen Intel UHD Graphics 770 aber nicht viel verändert. .

Leistungsaufnahme

Der Intel Core i7-12700K ist mit einer TDP von 125 Watt angegeben was dem PL1-Wert entspricht. Im Boost kann die Leistung des Prozessors auf bis zu 190 Watt ansteigen (PL2). Voraussetzungen sind aber eine gute Kühlung. Damit ist der neue Intel Core i7-12700K gegenüber dem Intel Core i7-11700K deutlich sparsamer, denn das Rocket Lake-S-Modell durfte sich seinerzeit bis zu 250 Watt maximal genehmigen.
