Der Intel Core i7-9700 ist eine High-End-CPU mit acht Kernen auf Basis der Coffee Lake-Architektur, die im Oktober 2018 zusammen mit dem Intel Core i9-9900K und dem Intel Core i7-9700K vorgestellt wurde. Der Prozessor taktet mit 3,0-4,7 GHz und kann insgesamt bis zu 8 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Gefertigt wird der Inter Core i7-9700 weiterhin im 14-nm-Prozess (14nm++). Aufgrund des geblockten Multiplikators lässt sich der Prozessor nicht so einfach wie der Core i7-9700K übertakten.

Performance

Durch die zwei zusätzlichen Rechenkerne steigt die Performance bei Ausnutzung aller Kerne im Vergleich zum Core i7-8700 nur leicht, da dem Intel Core i7-9700 kein Hypertreading zur Verfügung steht. Die Single-Core-Leistung konnte aufgrund der leicht erhöhten Turbotaktraten etwas gesteigert werden. Als High-End-Modell ist der i7-9700 auch für anspruchsvollste Anwendungen und primär für Videospiele geeignet.

Grafikeinheit

Die nun als Intel UHD Graphics 630 bezeichnete iGPU taktet mit 1.200 MHz genauso schnell wie zuvor. Somit ist kein nennenswerter Performancevorteil zu erwarten. Als Low-End-Lösung können aktuelle Videospiele, wenn überhaupt, lediglich in verminderter Detailstufe flüssig wiedergegeben werden.

Leistungsaufnahme

Intel beziffert die Thermal Design Power (TDP) auf 65 Watt. Somit bedarf es beim Betrieb des Intel Core i7-9700 keine großen Kühlsysteme.

Intel Core i5-9600K

Der Intel Core i5-9600K ist ein Desktop-Prozessor mit sechs Kernen auf Basis der Coffee Lake-Architektur, die im Oktober 2018 zusammen mit dem Intel Core i9-9900K und dem Intel Core i7-9700K vorgestellt wurde. Der Prozessor taktet mit 3,7-4,6 GHz und kann insgesamt bis zu 6 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Gefertigt wird der Inter Core i5-9600K im verbesserten 14-nm-Prozess (14nm++). Dank des freien Multiplikators lässt sich der Prozessor vergleichsweise einfach übertakten. Voraussetzung hierfür ist jedoch ein Mainboard mit Z390 Chipsatz, sowie eine sehr gute Kühlung.

Performance

Im Vergleich zum Intel Core i5-8600K konnte die Leistung um 10 bis 15 Prozent verbessert werden. Beide Prozessoren (alt und neu) bieten kein Hyperthreading. Das Leistungsplus summiert sich somit auf kleine Architekturverbesserungen und einem etwas höheren Basis- und Turbotakt. Den High-End-Bereich dominieren die beiden schnelleren i7 und i9 Ableger, aber für den Mid-Range-Bereich eignet sich der Intel Core i5-9600K durchaus für anspruchsvolle Anwendungen.

Grafikeinheit

Die nun als Intel UHD Graphics 630 bezeichnete iGPU taktet beim Intel Core i5-9600K mit 1.150 MHz genauso schnell wie zuvor beim i5-8600K. Somit ist kein nennenswerter Performancevorteil zu erwarten. Intel beziffert die Thermal Design Power (TDP) auf 95 Watt. Entsprechend dimensionierte Kühlsysteme dürften die entstehende Abwärme im Normalbetrieb problemlos abführen können. Beim Übertakten gönnt sich die CPU aber schnell 150 Watt und mehr. Hier sollte eine leistungsstarke Kühlung zum Einsatz kommen.

Intel Core i9-9900T

Der Intel Core i9-9900T ist eine High-End-CPU mit acht Kernen auf Basis der Coffee Lake-Architektur, die im Oktober 2018 vorgestellt wurde. Im Vergleich zum deutlich schneller getakteten Core i9-9900K, ist der 9900T mit einem deutlich niedrigeren TDP spezifiziert. Der Prozessor taktet mit 2,1 - 4,4 GHz und kann dank Hyperthreading bis zu 16 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Gefertigt wird der Inter Core i9-9900T im verbesserten 14-nm-Prozess (14nm++).

Performance

Durch die acht CPU-Kerne bietet die CPU trotz der geringeren Taktung eine ordentliche Multi-Threaded-Leistung. Die Single-Core Leistung ist aufgrund des relativ hohen Turbo von bis zu 4,4 GHz relativ schnell. Wie immer ist die Leistung aber stark von der Kühlung abhängig. Im Idealfall hällt der 9900T mit den schnellen 6-Kernern der Vorgängergeneration mit.
