Der Intel Core i9-9900KS ist eine High-End-CPU mit acht Kernen auf Basis der Coffee-Lake-Architektur, die im Oktober 2019 vorgestellt wurde. Der Prozessor taktet mit 4,0-5,0 GHz und kann dank Hyperthreading bis zu 16 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Gefertigt wird das Inter Core i9-9900KS weiterhin im 14-nm-Prozess (14nm++). Dank des freien Multiplikators lässt sich der Prozessor vergleichsweise einfach übertakten. Voraussetzung hierfür ist jedoch ein Mainboard mit Z390 Chipsatz.

Performance

Im Vergleich zum Intel Core i9-9900K hält der Core i9-9900KS auch unter last die 5,0 GHz auf allen acht Kernen, was die Leistung weiter steigert. Der Leistungszuwachs beträgt im Vergleich zum letzjährigen Intel Core i9-9900K mit ca. 10 Prozent. Der noch ältere Core i7-8700K kann je nach Anwendung um ca. 45 Prozent abgehängt werden. Als High-End-Modell ist der i9-9900KS auch für anspruchsvollste Anwendungen und Videospiele geeignet.

Grafikeinheit

Die nun als Intel UHD Graphics 630 bezeichnete iGPU taktet mit 1.200 MHz genauso schnell wie zuvor. somit ist kein nennenswerter Performancevorteil zu erwarten. Als Low-End-Lösung können aktuelle Videospiele, wenn überhaupt, lediglich in verminderter Detailstufe flüssig wiedergegeben werden.

Leistungsaufnahme

Intel erhöht die Thermal Design Power auf 127 Watt um die zusätzliche Leistung garantieren zu können. Entsprechend dimensionierte Kühlsysteme dürften die entstehende Abwärme im Normalbetrieb problemlos abführen können. Beim Übertakten gönnt sich die CPU aber schnell 200 Watt und mehr. Hier sollte eine deutlich leistungsstärkere Kühlung zum Einsatz kommen.

Der Intel Core i7-9700 ist eine High-End-CPU mit acht Kernen auf Basis der Coffee Lake-Architektur, die im Oktober 2018 zusammen mit dem Intel Core i9-9900K und dem Intel Core i7-9700K vorgestellt wurde. Der Prozessor taktet mit 3,0-4,7 GHz und kann insgesamt bis zu 8 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Gefertigt wird der Inter Core i7-9700 weiterhin im 14-nm-Prozess (14nm++). Aufgrund des geblockten Multiplikators lässt sich der Prozessor nicht so einfach wie der Core i7-9700K übertakten.

Performance

Durch die zwei zusätzlichen Rechenkerne steigt die Performance bei Ausnutzung aller Kerne im Vergleich zum Core i7-8700 nur leicht, da dem Intel Core i7-9700 kein Hypertreading zur Verfügung steht. Die Single-Core-Leistung konnte aufgrund der leicht erhöhten Turbotaktraten etwas gesteigert werden. Als High-End-Modell ist der i7-9700 auch für anspruchsvollste Anwendungen und primär für Videospiele geeignet.
