Lenovo: Neues 13-Zoll-Tablet mit 4K-Display muss ohne aktuellen Flaggschiff-Prozessor auskommen

Lenovo is bringing back the Legion Y900 gaming tablet series, and the refreshed lineup will introduce two new tablets. One of them will feature an 11-inch display, while the other will sport a 13-inch screen. With previous announcements, the company confirmed that both will be 4K panels with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 3:2 aspect ratio.

Now, with a recent announcement, the brand has shared that a not-so top-end SoC will be powering the upcoming 13-inch Legion Y900 gaming tablet. Specifically, this larger pad will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the last-gen flagship offering from Qualcomm.

Of course, this processor choice could make sense if the 13-inch Y900 tablet is priced affordably. To fill you in, the compact Legion Tab Gen 5 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 has a starting price of $849.99 in the global market, making it sit in the not-so-affordable range.

With the last-gen chipset, the 13-inch Legion Y900 could be an affordable choice for those who prefer a tablet with a large screen but don't need the latest and greatest in terms of hardware. As a matter of fact, it's a better choice than the non-Elite Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 if the price is right.

In the teaser, Lenovo mentions that with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the 13-inch Legion gaming tablet can achieve 3,503,138 points on AnTuTu. This score is on the higher end of what this SoC can offer, and it's even on par with what some Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 gets on the benchmark. So, there's a chance that Lenovo has integrated some performance-focused optimizations.

Other than that, Lenovo has previously showcased the tablet handling PC game emulation smoothly, and the brand has confirmed that the 13-inch model will measure 5.99mm thick while weighing 599 grams. Pricing details and other specs could emerge before the May 19 launch event.
