Der AMD Phenom II X4 N930 ist ein mobiler Quad-Core Prozessor für Notebooks und aufgrund des fehlenden Level 3 Cache verwandt zum Desktop Athlon II X4. Die Performance des N930 liegt aufgrund der geringen Taktung ohne Turbo und des kleinen Cache nur unterhalb eines Core 2 Quad Q9000. Dadurch ist die CPU bei älteren Einkern-optimierten Spielen als Flaschenhals anzusehen. Der X4 N930 wird in 45nm gefertigt und bietet einen integrierten DDR3 Speicherkontroller. Die Verbindung zum Chipsatz (M880) wird durch einen einzelnen 1800 MHz 16Bit HyperTransport 3.0 Link hergestellt.

Der AMD Phenom II Black Edition Quad-Core Mobile X940 oder Phenom II X4 X940 BE (Black Edition) ist ein mobiler Quad Core Prozessor für Notebooks und Topmodell der Phenom II X4 Serie im Q1 2011. Dank eines freien Multiplikators kann man den X940 relativ einfach übertakten. Mit dem Basistakt von 2.4 GHz ist die Performance jedoch nicht sonderlich gut (da der mobile Phenom II keinen Level 3 Cache aufweist). Dadurch sind die Core i7 Quad Cores deutlich schneller sein. Im Vergleich zu Desktop Prozessoren, entspricht die Phenom II X4 Serie am ehesten der Athlon II X4 Serie (jedoch mit geringerer Taktrate) und wird ebenfalls in 45nm SOI gefertigt.

Die Leistung des 100 MHz geringer getakteten X920BE (Vorgängermodell) war je nach Benchmark sehr unterschiedlich. Wenn nur ein Kern belastet wurde, erreichte der Prozessor nur Leistungwerte eines 2 GHz getakteten Penryn Core 2 Duo / Pentium. Bei SuperPi sogar nur das Niveau eines 1.4 GHz getakteten Intel Penryn Prozessors - jedoch haben hier alle AMD CPUs ihre Schwächen. Sobald alle 4 Kerne ausgelastet werden, erreicht der Phenom die sehr schnellen Core i5-540M-640M (Cinebench R10, wPrime 2, Cinebench R11.5). Der langsamste Core i7-720QM Quad Core von Intel bleibt aber immer deutlich schneller.

Der X4 X940BE besitzt einen integrierten DDR3 SDRAM Speicherkontroller (max. DDR3-1333).

AMD Phenom II X4 P920

Der AMD Phenom II X4 P920 ist ein mit lediglich 1.6 GHz getakteter 4-Kern Prozessor für Notebooks. Er bietet keinen Level 3 Cache (im Gegensatz zum Desktop Phenom II) und dadurch ist die Performance besonders bei Single-Thread Anwendungen nicht sehr schnell.

Beim Cinebench R10 erreicht er dadurch nur die Performance eines 1.6 GHz Pentium Doppelkernprozessors. Im SuperPi sogar nur eines 1.3 GHz Core 2 Duo. Wenn alle 4 Kerne genutzt werden, kann die Leistung mit einem 2.3 GHz T4500 verglichen werden. Dadurch bleibt die Leistung fast immer unter einem Core i3-330M. Der Intel Core i7-720QM taktet zwar mit ebenfalls 1.6 GHz Basistaktfrequenz, bietet jedoch dank Turbo und Level 3 Cache eine deutlich bessere Performance. Der Stromverbrauch ist jedoch ebenfalls deutlich höher.

Der integrierte Speicherkontroller unterstützt maximal DDR3-1066. Gefertigt wird die CPU im 45nm SOI Prozess.
