Der Rockchip RK3188 ist ein leistungsstarker ARM-SoC, der in erster Linie für Tablets konzipiert wurde. Er integriert vier ARM Cortex-A9 CPU-Kerne mit NEON-Erweiterung und einer Taktrate von bis zu 1,8 GHz, eine Mali-400 MP4 Grafikkarte (bis zu 600 MHz, 24 GFLOPS) und einen Speichercontroller für (LP-)DDR2/DDR3. Die CPU- und Grafik-Performance liegt dank der hohen Taktraten etwas über anderen Cortex-A9 Quad-Cores wie dem Nvidia Tegra 3 oder Samsung Exynos 4412. Möglich wird dies durch eine fortschrittliche 28-Nanometer-Fertigung. Dennoch treibt die hohe Taktfrequenz die Leistungsaufnahme in die Höhe, sodass der RK3188 kaum in kompakten Smartphones eingesetzt wird.
