Das Razer Atlas Pro kann ab sofort im US-Store des Unternehmens und bei Amazon.com für umgerechnet 110 Euro bestellt werden. Zur Wahl stehen die Farbvarianten Schwarz und Weiß. Der Launch in Europa und Deutschland dürfte bald folgen.
Razer hat auch auf die ergonomischen Vorteile seiner Alternative zu Stoff-Mauspads hingewiesen. Bei einem korrekt eingerichteten Setup mit passend positioniertem Stuhl und Schreibtisch entsteht beim Greifen der Gaming-Maus weniger Belastung. Abgerundete Kanten sollen zudem die unangenehmen Kontaktstellen verringern, wenn die Handgelenke an die Seiten des Zubehörs stoßen.
Mit 500 x 400 Millimetern bietet das Razer Atlas Pro mehr Tracking-Fläche als sein Vorgänger. Die reduzierte Dicke von 1,9 Millimetern ist eine weitere wesentliche Änderung, da Konkurrenzprodukte im Schnitt bei rund 3 Millimetern liegen. Für mehr Stabilität misst die Gummibasis unter dem gehärteten Oberflächenglas 1,1 Millimeter.
Sind Mauspads aus Glas für jeden geeignet?
Das Ziel eines Mauspads aus Glas besteht darin, den Widerstand zu beseitigen, der bei Stoff-Pads auftritt. Die geringere Reibung kann auch die Konstanz optischer Sensoren in einer Esports-Gaming-Maus wie der Viper V4 Pro verbessern. Razer räumt allerdings selbst ein, dass Spieler mit höherem Anspruch an Kontrolle eher eine weichere Lösung bevorzugen dürften.

Der Hersteller hat das Atlas Pro außerdem so ausgelegt, dass es Kratzer durch scharfe Gegenstände auf Gaming-Schreibtischen besser überstehen soll.
