Zu Recht ist das Huawei P20 Pro das vielleicht bisher erfolgreichste Gadget der Chinesen, die ja inzwischen auf Platz 2 der grössten Handyhersteller liegen. Das Smartphone hat fast keine Schwächen und herausragende Stärken. Während auch andere einen schönen Screen mit Notch oder eine Gesichtserkennung haben, überragt das P20 Pro bei Kamera oder Akkulaufzeit alle anderen.

Das P20 Pro ist ein ganz klar ein Smartphone mit Schwerpunkt auf Fotografie. Die Kamera kann viel und ist sehr gut. Sie kommt gut mit Tag-, Gegen- und Schwachlicht klar. Huawei nimmt das Thema mobile Fotografie sehr ernst, das muss man dem Hersteller lassen. Aber auch die übrigen Eigenschaften stimmen: Design und Verarbeitung, vor allem die außergewöhnliche Farbe Twilight hebt das P20 Pro vom Rest ab.

Das Huawei P20 Pro ist ein sehr gutes Smartphone auf Augenhöhe mit den Wettbewerbern. Das Kamera-System mit vier Sensoren, Laser und Blitz liegt bei Detailreichtum und Schärfe sogar weit vorne. Kein anderer Hersteller bietet einen vergleichbaren optischen 3-fach-Zoom an. Einziger Kritikpunkt ist, dass die Farben von der Kamera nicht immer ganz stimmig festgehalten werden. Aber auch die weiteren Komponenten können sich sehen lassen: Ein sehr gutes, blickwinkelstabiles Display, Stereo-Lautsprecher mit tollem Sound, ein rasend schnelles Funkmodul und ein sehr ausdauernder Akku in einem - für die "Pro"-Klasse - recht kompaktem Gerät. Dafür ist der Prozessor etwas langsamer als bei der Konkurrenz, was freilich bei 90 Prozent aller Anwendungen nicht auffällt.

Dazu noch der Home-Button weg und das Modell wäre deutlich kompakter. Aber das ist eine Frage der persönlichen Vorliebe, es wird sicher auch Personen geben, denen 6,1 Zoll zu wenig sind.

For instance, at high zoom levels it will lose some crispness on the edges of the images.

The P20 was launched alongside the P20 Pro and is the cheaper, smaller alternative to it, however, other than their names and the basic look of the phone, they have very little in common. The P20 lacks the P20 Pro's triple camera setup, losing the 3x optical telephoto lens, and using a completely different 20-megapixel RGB and 12-megapixel monochrome dual camera module. It also has an inferior 5.8-inch LCD display, a smaller 3,400mAh battery, 4GB RAM, and only has an IP53 rating (i.e. no water resistance). While the P20 is S$250 cheaper than the P20 Pro, it lacks everything that makes the P20 Pro special. Additionally, at the S$898 price range, there are other phones with better displays and more powerful processors you should consider first, like the upcoming OnePlus 6, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s and Oppo R15.

Après une petite heure passée en la compagnie du Huawei P20 Pro, le bilan est plutôt positif. Si sur le terrain du design le numéro 3 mondial s’est (comme beaucoup) inspiré d’Apple, le smartphone n’en demeure pas moins réussi. Le Huawei P20 Pro est compact et affiche un bel écran de 6,1 pouces très lumineux. Pas de souci particulier à se faire du côté des performances : le P20 Pro devrait figurer parmi les meilleurs du marché. Il a par ailleurs cette particularité d’être propulsé par une intelligence artificielle unique sur le marché. C’est bien entendu du côté de la photo que le Huawei P20 Pro impressionne le plus avec triple capteur photo. Reste qu’à 899 euros, le P20 Pro n’est pas donné et qu’il se confronte directement au Galaxy S9 Plus ou pour quelques deniers de plus à l’iPhone X. Hélas, Huawei ne dispose pas encore de l’aura de ses deux rivaux.

Modell: Das Huawei P20 Pro ist ein Super-Flagship-Phone mit 6 GB RAM und 128 GB Speicher. Es konkurriert mit Samsungs Galaxy S9 und Apples iPhone X. Seine Highlights sind eine Hauptkamera mit drei Linsen und eine lange Akkulaufzeit. Zudem ist es IP67-zertifiziert wasser- und staubresistent.

Design und Ausstattung

Das Huawei P20 Pro sieht stylish aus. Vorder- und Rückseite sind aus zwei großen, abgerundeten Gorilla-Glas-Platten und die Seiten sind aus poliertem Aluminium. Mit Abmessungen von 155 x 73,9 x 7,8 mm und einem Gewicht von zirka 180 g, ist das Phone schlanker, jedoch etwas schwerer als das Samsung Galaxy S9 (147.7 x 68.7 x 8.5 mm; 163 g). Anders als beim Samsung biegt sich der Bildschirm des Huawei nicht um die Kanten. Wie das iPhone X, hat das Huawei P20 Pro einen „Notch“, einen Ausschnitt des Bildschirms, der für hier für Kamera und Lautsprecher benutzt wird. Sollte er Ihnen nicht zusagen, kann er via den Einstellungen softwaremäßig versteckt werden.

Home-Button, Fingerabdruckleser und 2D-Gesichtserkennung

Anders als die Konkurrenten blieb Huawei beim Fingerabdruckleser an der Vorderseite. Dieser ist im physischen Home-Button integriert. www.theverge.com meint, dass er sich wegen dieser Lage einfacher und intuitiver verwenden lässt als Fingerabdruckleser, die sich an der Rückseite befinden und dass er erstaunlich schnell und genau ist. Josh Levenson von www.trustedreviews.com schreibt, dass er öfter versehentlich sowohl den kapazitiven als auch den virtuellen Home-Button gleichzeitig gedrückt und damit den Google Assistant gestartet hat.

Außer dem Fingerabdruck-ID-System bietet das Phone Face-Unlock, welches laut www.theverge.com unter allen Umständen bei diesem Phone augenblicklich funktioniert. Allerdings meint diese Seite, dass das System nicht so sicher ist wie Apples aufwändigeres Face-ID. www.techradar.com bestätigt, dass Face-Unlock außerordentlich schnell ist und auf Geschwindigkeit anstatt auf Sicherheit ausgelegt ist, da es für die Gesichtserkennung nur die Bilder der Front-Kamera auswertet anstatt intelligente IR-Techniken wie das iPhone X zu nutzen. www.digitaltrends.com lobt sogar: „The P20 Pro is not just a smartphone, it’s a proper camera.” Allerdings würden sie sich schnelleren Zugriff auf Monochrome- und Zeitlupenvideoaufnahme wünschen, welche sich hinter der „More“-Option der Kamera-App verbergen.

www.wired.co.uk vergleicht die Hauptkamera des P20 Pro mit der Konkurrenz und meint, dass das Pixel 2 bessere HDR-Verarbeitung bietet, die optische Bildstabilisierung des Galaxy S9 immer noch zeitweise den Berechnungsansatz übertrifft und die Farben am iPhone X oft natürlicher aussehen.

www.techradar.com schreibt, dass es zwar möglich ist 4K-Videos aufzuzeichnen, doch Filme aufgrund fehlender Bildstabilisierung ruckelig und amateurhaft aussehen, während die Software-Stabilisierung bei 1080p extrem effektiv ist. Zeitlupenaufnahmen werden unterstützt.

Sie unterstützt Fix-Fokus. www.techradar.com meint, die hohe Auflösung würde nicht in allen Aufnahmen offensichtlich sein und das Pixel 2 würde klarere Selfies mit sauberen Details aufnehmen. Display

Der 6,1-Zoll-Bildschirm nutzt die OLED-Technologie und bietet 16,7 Millionen Farben, FHD+-Auflösung (1.080 x 2.240 Pixel), eine Pixeldichte von 408 PPI und eine 18.7:9 Seitenverhältnis. Dagegen bietet das Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus 529 PPI. www.theverge.com meint, dass sich dieser Bildschirm – ebenso wie die OLED-Bildschirme im iPhone X und Galaxy S9, bequem im Freien ablesen lässt und scharf, kontrastreich und genau ist. www.techradar.com fasst zusammen: Die Bildschirmqualität ist ausgezeichnet, Schwarz perfekt und die Blaustichigkeit beim Neigen des Phones nur minimal. www.digitaltrends.com schreibt, dass der Bildschirm unter Tageslicht lesbar ist und Photos und Videos mit ausgezeichneter Farbgebung und eben solchem Kontrast großartig dargestellt werden.

Hardware, Software und Leistung

Das Huawei P20 Pro verfügt über eine Huawei Kirin 970 Octa-Core-CPU mit vier Cortex-A73-Kernen (bis zu 2, 36 GHz) und vier Cortex-A53-Kernen (bis zu 1,8 GHz), 6 GB RAM und 128 GB. In der CPU ist ARMs Mali G72 (12 Kerne) IGP-Grafikchip mit 850 MHz integriert. www.techradar.com schreibt, dass High-End-Games auf diesem Phone sehr gut laufen, und es in den von ihnen getesteten Titeln zu keinen Leistungseinbrüchen gekommen ist, obwohl dieses Phone nicht mit der leistungsstärksten GPU der Phone-Welt ausgestattet ist. Allerdings klagen sie, dass dieses Phone aktuell kein Full-HD-Streaming von Netflix unterstützt und berichten folgende Benchmarkergebnisse: 6.775 Punkte (1.918 pro Kern) in Geekbench 4 (Galaxy S9/Snapdragon 845: ~ 9,000; iPhone X: ~ 10,000). Allerdings könnte die Software-Anpassungen an den Notch besser sein.

Battery Life

Der 4000-mAh-Akku hält sehr lange durch. Er unterstützt Fast-Charging, jedoch, anders als das Samsung Galaxy S9 und iPhone X nicht Wireless-Charging. www.techradar.com stellt fest, dass ein Tag ziemlich leicht mit einem Ladestand von 40 % beendet werden konnte. Das Huawei P20 Pro verlor in ihrem Standard-Video-Wiedergabetest (90-Minuten Video-Wiedergabe bei maximaler Helligkeit) nur 9 % Ladung. Diese Seite lobt zudem, dass der Fast-Charger nur 1 Stunde und 24 Minuten braucht, um den Akku von völlig leer auf 100 % zu laden. Andere Online-Magazine liefern ähnliche Akkulaufzeitergebnisse.

Audio- und Sprachqualität

Laut www.theverge.com wird der Lautsprecher dieses Phones laut ohne jemals schrill zu werden oder zu verzerren. Es kostet 899,00 Euros (Stand: 09-04-2018) bei amazon.de und zirka £799 im Vereinigten Königreich. In den USA wird es nicht erhältlich sein. www.theverge.com zieht das P20 Pro Samsungs Flagship von 2018 vor, denn das Huawei bietet eine leistungsfähigere Kamera, bessere Ergonomie, längere Akkulaufzeit und hat eine weniger störende Android-Benutzeroberfläche.
