Archive.org versionDas Lenovo G530 NSH3FGE ist solides Einstiegsnotebook mit ausreichenden Leistungsreserven und einer hervorragenden Tastatur. Allerdings braucht auch ein Budget-Notebook ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal, will es sich erfolgreich aus der Masse der Notebooks abheben. Dies kann ein außergewöhnlich niedriger Preis sein, so wie beim Toshiba Satellite L300D-21P. Oder aber man glänzt mit herausragenden Ergonomie-Werten, so wie z.B. das Asus X5DIJ-SX018L.

Gaming is out of the query, but given its intended market that is not very a concern. Compared to a Vostro or ProBook I reckon the G530 feels sturdier & given the price & configuration, the G530 is a better deal. Overall I reckon Lenovo should be pushing this laptop to small & medium businesses instead of the ThinkPad SL500, since the G530 feels like a much better machine.

In the end, home users looking for a back-to-school notebook or a replacement for an aging computer can do better.

With a price just below $500, the G530 is very inexpensive for a 15.4-inch laptop system. Even with its low price tag, its features are too restricted as one might expect as long as your aren't planning to do much beyond basic computing (internet, productivity and light multimedia). Where the G530 does sacrifice is in the battery life that is well below average and an older wireless that does not support the faster 802.11n draft standards.

Styling is very basic, similar to the Dell Vostro or HP ProBook line, and just like the ThinkPad comes in an all-black color scheme. System performance was fine for normal use, and could even handle HD content. Gaming is out of the question, but given its intended market that is hardly a concern. Compared to a Vostro or ProBook I think the G530 feels sturdier and given the price and configuration, the G530 is a better deal. Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500M: Im GL40 oder GS40 Chipsatz (Montevina Plattform) integrierte shared Memory Grafikkarte von Intel. Technisch eine geringer getaktete GMA 4500MHD (400 MHz versus 533) und durch den geringeren Takt auch kein BlueRay Logo Support.
Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen. Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.

Neben Desktops und Notebooks stellt das Unternehmen Monitore, Beamer, Server etc her und hat sich auf die Entwicklung, Herstellung und Vermarktung von Unterhaltungselektronik, Personalcomputern, Software, Unternehmenslösungen und damit verbundenen Dienstleistungen spezialisiert.
