The Chromebook Plus 514 isn't a huge upgrade over the 2023 original, but it improves where it counts most: battery life, overall performance and screen quality. It doesn't actually excel on any of those counts, but then at this price point it doesn't need to. As an entry-level Chromebook Plus it needs to offer good all-round usability and good enough performance to get work done, and it succeeds on both counts. Those looking for the best Chromebook might glance upmarket at the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus, but those looking for an inexpensive workhorse can focus their search right here.

The Acer Chromebook Plus 514 is a very capable Chromebook, thanks to its spec and excellent display. It also has a useful port selection and can unfold to 180 degrees, although those after a hybrid device should look elsewhere. It’s reasonably priced compared to the competition as well, which makes it even more of an enticing proposition for your next Chromebook upgrade.

Intel UHD Graphics 64EUs: Integrierte Grafikkarte (in Alder-Lake SoCs) der Gen. 12 Architektur mit 64 EUs. 

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
