The Cloudbook ist die Windows-Antwort auf Googles Chromebook, welches als einfaches, budget-freundliches Chrome-OS-Gerät Windows-User abgeworben hat. Um mit den letzteren mitzuhalten wurde das Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 11 vorgestellt und soll mit seinem niedrigen Pries und zusätzlichen Features ein starker Konkurrent sein. Geprägt als "online-orientiertes" Netbook kommt dieses 11,6 Zoll große Cloudbook 11 mit vorinstalliertem Windows 10 Home neben einem 1-Jahres-Abo von Office 365 und insgesamt 1 TB OneDrive Speicher. Um das Konzept zu verstärken hat Acer seine 'Build Your Own Cloud' applications für private und sichere Synchronization zwischen Geräten inkludiert. Der Vorteil dieses Modells ist, dass es Vollversionen von Microsoft Office ausführen kann und, anders als Chromebooks, alle unter Windows ausführbaren Programme extrahieren und installieren kann. Daher sind User nicht hauptsächlich an die Verwendung des Browsers gebunden und dieses Modell gefällt für Internet-Surfen, Video-Streaming, leichtes Gaming und kleinere Arbeitseinsätze. Allerdings können die Nutzer wegen des Mangels an Leistung keine anspruchsvollen Programme für Video- oder Grafikbearbeitung und high-end Gaming verwenden. Außerdem ist die Anzahl an Programmen sehr beschränkt, da ein DVD-Laufwerk fehlt und der Speicherplatz mit 32 GB klein ist, wobei dieses Problem bei Chromebooks nicht auftrifft, da der meiste Speicher online ist. At this price, the Cloudbook 11 is a good option for someone looking for a highly portable or affordable Windows 10 machine. It offers similar functionality to what netbooks used to. It's lightweight, relatively well built, has a good trackpad, handles 4K video playback, and you get free cloud storage (for a limited time). The screen is good enough for working on office documents, catching up on a movie or surfing the Web. Do keep in mind that local storage is extremely limited so you can't treat this like any other laptop. Performance is also a bit sluggish, so as long as you stick to the basics, you should be fine.

Acer: 1976 wurde das Unternehmen unter dem Namen Multitech in Taiwan gegründet und 1987 in Acer unbenannt bzw. Acer Group. Zur Produktpalette gehören beispielsweise Laptops, Tablets, Smartphones, Desktops, Monitore, Fernseher und Computer-Peripheriegeräte. Der Konzern ist seit 2007 mit Gateway Inc. und Packard Bell zusammengeschlossen, die ebenfalls eigene Laptop-Produktlinien vermarkten.
Acer Computer sind für verschiedene Zwecke geeignet, z. B. Ultrabooks für den mobilen Einsatz, Gaming-Laptops für Gamer, preisgünstige Optionen für alltägliche Aufgaben und 2-in-1-Convertible-Laptops für Vielseitigkeit. Das Produktportfolio von Acer umfasst auch Tablets, die tragbare Computer- und Multimediafunktionen bieten.
Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.
Intel HD Graphics (Braswell): Grafikeinheit in den SoCs der Intel-Braswell-Serie. Basiert auf der Broadwell-GPU (Intel Gen8), unterstützt DirectX 11.2 und bietet je nach Modell 12 oder 16 EUs. Anfangs nur Intel HD Graphics benannt, später als Intel HD Graphics 400 bezeichnet.

N3050: Sparsamer Dual-Core-SoC auf Basis der Atom-Architektur "Airmont" für preiswerte Notebooks. Taktet mit 1,6 bis 2,16 GHz und integriert eine DirectX-11.2-fähige Grafikeinheit.

14 Zoll Display-Grösse stellt ein Mittelding zwischen den kleinen Subnotebook-Formaten und den Bildschirmen der 15 Zoll-Standard-Laptops dar.
Der Grund der Beliebtheit mittelgrosser Displays ist, dass diese Größe einigermaßen augenschonend ist, gute Auflösungen mit brauchbaren Detailgrößen liefern und dennoch nicht allzu viel Strom verbraucht und die Geräte noch halbwegs kompakt sein können.
Früher waren 14 Zoll-Geräte sehr selten, jetzt stellen sie nach den 15-Zollern den Standard bei Laptops dar.

In this weight range, there are particularly light laptops, convertibles and subnotebooks that are trimmed for good portability.
71.88%: Diese Bewertung ist schlecht. Locker drei Viertel der Modelle werden besser beurteilt. Das ist eher keine Kaufempfehlung. Auch wenn Verbalbewertungen in diesem Bereich gar nicht so schlecht klingen ("genügend" oder "befriedigend"), meist sind es Euphemismen, die eine Klassifikation als unterdurchschnittliches Notebook verschleiern.
