On the other hand, the larger size does not translate into a more detailed display or sized keyboard. At least the extra cost does come with increased memory and storage but in many ways, the more portable C200 is a better option.

However, if all you need is to get on the Web, then the C300 should be more than enough. We still prefer the Editors' Choice HP Chromebook 13 for its construction quality, IPS screen, and micro-USB charging, but if you need a larger screen and longer battery life, the C300 comes a close second.

Modell: Das Design des Asus C300MA-DB01 ist schön und einfach und sieht dennoch elegant und durchdacht aus. Es handelt sich um das Basismodell der ultra-portablen C300-Serie mit überlegener Akkulaufzeit für ganztägige Nutzung. Das Chromebook ist nur 20 mm dick. Das schwarze Modell bietet ein elegantes Aussehen wie gebürstetes Metall am Deckel und Innenseite, womit es diskreter wirkt. Dagegen sehen die anderen drei Farboptionen - rot, blau, und gelb - mit jeweils grauer Innenseite verspielter aus.
Das Asus C300MA-DB01 verfügt wohl über das größte Touchpad seiner Klasse, das mehrere Gesten unterstützt, und eine einteilige Tastatur für nahtloses Aussehen. Die Hardware des Chrome-OS-Gerätes besteht aus einem Intel Bay Trail-M Celeron N2830 Zweikern-Prozessor, bis zu 4 GB DDR3L SDRAM und einem 16 GB eMMC-Laufwerk. Das ergibt ein sehr portables Setup mit gutem Antwortverhalten für großartige Benutzerfreundlichkeit.
Das 1.4 kg Chromebook ist zudem mit einem SD-Kartenleser, Bluetooth 4.0, 1 USB-3.0-Port, 1 USB-2.0-Port, einem HDMI-Ausgang und, abhängig vom Modell, einem micro-SIM-Kartenslot, voll ausgestattet. Die Klangqualität ist dank leistungsstarker Lautsprecher erstaunlich klar und laut. Zusammen mit dem 13,3-Zoll großen HD-Display ergibt sich ein gutes portables Multimedia-Gerät. Wem Portabilität wichtig ist oder wer ein Zweitgerät sucht, wird sicherlich am Asus C300MA-DB01 Gefallen finden.
Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail): Grafikeinheit in den Tablet- und Notebook-SoCs der Bay-Trail-Serie. Basiert auf der Ivy-Bridge-GPU, unterstützt DirectX 11 und bietet 4 EUs.
Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen. Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.
