The Asus ExpertBook P5440FA has a quoted battery life of ten hours of paper but it’s, at best, an optimistic estimation. With the display set on moderate brightness and on average power settings with WiFi on and a purely productivity related work profile – emails, word processing, spreadsheets – for most of the day along with an hour or two of YouTube video, the notebook managed about seven hours of run time before we needed to find a plug point. That’s a fair figure by any measure and more than sufficient for a day out of the office.

Overall, the ASUS ExpertBook has definitely leveled up with this latest model. It might not be able to run triple-A titles at max, but lighter games won't be an issue. It's not perfect though. The 14-inch screen still uses an IPS panel, and the hinge does flex a lot, but these are some of my personal nitpicks with this laptop. For the general users, this shouldn't be that big of a deal. Then we have the price. The ASUS ExpertBook P5 starts at PHP 82,995 here in the Philippines, which makes it decently priced for what it's capable of.

I just mentioned it again above, but that three-year warranty with one year of Accidental Damage Protection is an enticing add-on for businesses that don’t want to replace a new laptop due to some mishap after 6 months with it. The display and the mushy touchpad are the biggest complaints I have with the ExpertBook P5 and they are frankly fairly minor for a business laptop. If you are doing work that requires vibrant color and precise color accuracy, this isn’t the laptop for you, but the bright 144Hz panel is outstanding for productivity work.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. ist ein großer taiwanesischer Hersteller von Computer-Hardware mit Sitz in Taipeh, gegründet 1989. Unter dem Markennamen Asus fertigt das Unternehmen eine breite Palette von Produkten, darunter Laptops, Desktops, Motherboards, Grafikkarten, Monitore, Smartphones und Netzwerkgeräte, Komplettsysteme und PC-Bauteile für Endkunden.

Unter dem Markennamen ROG (Republic of Gamers) stellt ASUS Gaming-Laptops her, die bei Spielern für ihre leistungsstarken Spezifikationen, dedizierten Grafikkarten, Displays mit hoher Bildwiederholrate und fortschrittlichen Kühlsystemen bekannt sind.

Über das Gaming hinaus werden eine breite Palette von Notebooks für unterschiedliche Anforderungen und Budgets geboten: von ultraschlanken und leichten Ultrabooks bis hin zu vielseitigen 2-in-1-Convertibles und budgetfreundlichen Optionen. 2023 hatte Asus einen Weltmarktanteil von 7% am PC-Markts.

Die Kundenzufriedenheit mit ASUS-Notebooks betrifft Leistung, die Funktionen und das gute Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis der ASUS-Notebooks. Wie bei jeder Marke gibt es jedoch gelegentlich Berichte über Probleme wie Überhitzung, Treiberkompatibilität oder Probleme mit der Verarbeitungsqualität.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrierte Grafikkarte (GT2-Ausbau, 24 EUs), welche in einigen Kaby-Lake-CPUs (Refresh, ULV-Modelle, 15 Watt TDP) verbaut wird. Technisch identisch zur HD Graphics 620 in den Kaby-Lake Modellen aus 2016.

Intel Arc 140V: Schnelle integrierte Grafikkarte, die in den schnelleren Intel Lunar Lake Prozessoren zum Einsatz kommt. Die 140V verfügt über 8 Xe²-Architekturkerne (Battlemage), die mit bis zu 2.050 MHz laufen, und 8 Raytracing-Einheiten. Sie ist DirectX 12 Ultimate-fähig und unterstützt alle modernen Video-Codecs.

Integriert unter anderem vier CPU-Kerne mit 1,6 - 3,9 GHz und HyperThreading sowie eine Grafikeinheit und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik (14nm++ versus 14nm+ bei Kaby-Lake-R) gefertigt.

i7-8565U: Auf der Whiskey Lake / Kaby-Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks. Core Ultra 7 258V: Ein Notebook-Prozessor der oberen Mittelklasse der Lunar Lake Serie. Der SoC verfügt über 4 brandneue E-Kerne und 4 leicht verbesserte P-Kerne verfügt, die mit bis zu 4,8 GHz laufen, zusammen mit der neuen Arc 140V iGPU und 32 GB integriertem LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. Eine neue 47 TOPS neuronale Engine, TB 4 und PCIe 5 SSD Unterstützung sind ebenfalls enthalten.
