The $1,299 HP Omen 15 gives you a laptop that can blend in relatively well in an office setting, but can still serve up great gaming performance. True, it’s not using one of Nvidia’s more powerful GPUs, but it can still deliver solid frame rates depending on the settings. Plus, you get a lovely display, good battery life (for a gaming laptop) and great performance and transfer rates.

Sure, you are paying a slight premium for the Omen branding, but that gets you a configuration that can handle most games at the medium setting and should be able to run popular titles like Fortnite cranked up. However, I do wish HP had opted for a better display and a bigger battery.

While the Intel variant still lends itself to content creation in a fairly strong capacity, the Ryzen variant falls flat in all aspects of creative needs. This is partly due to the severely limited amount of RAM on board and a display that isn’t bright enough or capable of reproducing the entire sRGB colour space. However, when it comes to gaming, the Omen 15 does not disappoint. When it comes to thermals, the Omen 15 once again impresses. It offers better upgradability than what you’d get in competing machines, so if you’re looking for a purely gaming machine that can double up as your casual daily driver, consider the Omen 15 Ryzen edition. If you expect more, go for a higher tier variant.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Mobile: Mid-Range Notebook-Grafikkarte basierend auf der Desktop GTX 1650 Ti mit Turing Architektur. Bietet keine Raytracing und Tensor-Kerne im Gegensatz zu den stärkeren RTX 2000 Modellen. Es sind anscheinend verschiedenste Versionen mit unterschiedlichen Taktraten und Spezifikationen erhältlich, die sich bei der Performance deutlich unterscheiden können.
Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
