I would be more than happy with an RTX 4070 version, though. The performance of that little chip is really quite something, though you'll want to make sure that it's given plenty of power to stretch its little legs. More power means more heat, and that brings us to the most lasting of impressions. Put simply, I'm not convinced that MSI's coolers are even remotely suitable for a high-powered combination of Intel and Nvidia chips. The chassis size forces the layout to rely heavily on two small fans blasting air through the heatsinks but as they're not particularly beefy, the fan speeds need to be excessively high to get any decent cooling. I started this review about face value and the Vector 17 HX's face screams wasted potential. There's a brilliant laptop, albeit somewhat pricey, just begging to be set free and gamed on here, but the awful fan noise ruins it.

The MSI Vector 17 HX gets a lot of things right with its expansive high refresh rate display, backed up by a cutting-edge storage solution, tons of RAM, and an all-star Intel Core i9 CPU. However, the quality of the display leaves a lot to be desired, and the RTX 4070 GPU inside means you won't get the most out of its 240Hz capability, especially at its native 1600p resolution.

The MSI Vector 17 HX (2024) has a lot going for it. You’re getting a lot of CPU horsepower, a GPU that’s fast enough to run many games at 1440p, a good QHD+ screen, fast storage and plenty of RAM. It’s no match for the Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 or the Acer Predator Helios 18 in terms of graphics performance, but then it’s also substantially cheaper – we’re talking an extra £1000 or more left in the bank. Sure, it’s big, bulky and obnoxiously loud, but the Vector 17 gives you high all-round performance at a price you might just about afford. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU: High-End-Notebookgrafikkarte basierend auf die Ada Lovelace Architektur. Bietet 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM (128 Bit) und ca 35-115W TGP (+ Dynamic Boost). Vorstellung sollte im Januar 2023 erfolgen, Verkaufsstart dann im Februar.

High-End Grafikkarten welche auch neueste und anspruchsvolle 3D-Spiele in hohen Auflösungen und Detailstufen flüssig wiedergeben können. Durch den hohen Stromverbrauch, werden diese GPUs nur in großen und schweren Notebooks mit geringen Akkulaufzeiten angeboten.
