Das Realme GT 7 in der von uns getesteten Aston Martin Formula One Edition zeigt, dass es nicht nur farblich oder vom Design einiges her macht. Das Samsung-Display überzeugt auf ganzer Linie. Satte Farben, schnelle Reaktionen und ein hoher Dynamikumfang. Auch der Dimensity 9400e stellt unter Beweis, dass es nicht immer der teure Flaggschiff-Prozessor von Qualcomm sein muss. MediaTek hat sich über die Jahre hinweg an den kalifornischen Chip-Hersteller herangepirscht und beweist zu einem deutlich günstigeren Preis nahezu gleiches Potential. Die Triple-Kamera kann unabhängig von Tages- und Nacht-Aufnahmen überzeugen. Lediglich die Ultra-Weitwinkel-Kamera schwächelt ein wenig. Sollte das GT 7 Flaggschiff-Ansprüche haben, so ist im Grunde nur an dieser Stelle nachzubessern.

All told, a respectable mix of high class features makes this one a standout.

For RM400 more than the standard Realme GT 7, you get a fancier unboxing experience, extra goodies, and exclusive Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team design touches inside and out. But as mentioned above, it’s been sold out since May this year. All’s not lost, though — the regular Realme GT 7 is still available for RM2,499 via Realme’s official stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. If you’re shopping around, you might also want to consider alternatives like the Vivo V60, Honor 400 Pro, Oppo Reno 14 Pro, or Samsung Galaxy S25 FE — or simply wait for the next-gen Realme GT 8, which should make its global debut soon.

Now for the real question, should you buy the realme GT 7? Well, unfortunately, it’s not coming to the US. But I’m sure you already knew that. Having said that, I have been using it here in the US on T-Mobile and have gotten nearly identical network experience as with my OnePlus 13. So if you were to import it, you’d likely be perfectly fine. Given the starting price of €799.99, I do think this is a pretty competitive smartphone. However, if you’re looking for an incredible camera at this price, you might want to look elsewhere. For just a bit more, around €849, you can pick up the OPPO Find X8 which does have a better camera but slower charging and less battery capacity. The realme GT 7 seems really focused on longevity, with its 7,000mAh capacity battery and 120W charging. Also the fact that realme is touting the ability to play a game at 120fps for 7 hours straight on a single charge. If that’s what appeals to you, then the realme GT 7 is a great option.

We’re also sad and surprised about eSIMs locked for ORoaming purposes. It does boil down to preference here, since the competition is tough at this price point but–so far in 2025–the GT 7 has my vote if you’re to look at the power it has under the hood, how long it actually lasts, and how quick you’re able to top it.

The Dimensity 9400e seems to be a very capable chip, easily putting out numbers comparable to and even better than last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It's not all sunshine and roses, though. For one, that powerful chipset we just mentioned doesn't stay all that powerful for long under heavy graphics loads. The other gripe we have with the GT 7 is that while decent, we could have gotten a 3x telephoto camera for the price tag Realme is asking here. And that leads us to our main point: while the Realme GT 7 is undoubtedly a great and well-rounded device, it seems to currently be priced a bit high considering what the competition often offers for less money. As such, it's definitely not a bad choice, but perhaps we would wait for the price to drop a bit or search for a good promo offer.

ARM Immortalis-G720 MP12: High-End Grafikchip für Smartphones mit 12 der 16 möglichen Kernen. Basiert auf die neue "5th Gen" Architektur (Nachfolger von Valhall) inklusive Variable Rate Shading (VRS) und Ray Racing. Im Vergleich zum G715 sollen wieder 15% höhere Performance bei gleichen Taktraten möglich sein.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
