Das Redmi Note 9 ist das bessere Redmi 9. Allein der größere Speicher rechtfertigt schon den moderaten Aufpreis. Dazu kommt die bessere Hauptkamera und das hellere Display. Das Bedientempo ist ausreichend, das Arbeitstempo für Gamer aber zu mager. Die Ausdauer ist prima. Schade, dass das Note 9 nicht so griffig ist wie das matte Redmi 9.

Dass ich von einem Redmi Note Smartphone mal enttäuscht werde, hätte ich eigentlich nach den letzten Jahren nicht mehr gedacht. Wenn es aber nur darum geht, viel Handy für möglichst wenig Geld zu bekommen, tut es auch ein Redmi 9.

It still needs a lot more love (spit and polish) from the brand when it comes to software optimisation and gaming performance. Hopefully, these should be resolved with future updates (MIUI 12), but for now, they aren’t. If you have last year’s Redmi Note 8, there’s no good reason to upgrade. I would recommend the Note 9 only if all you care about is getting the best possible hardware at Rs 11,999 (and of course don’t prioritise gaming).
