Though this workstation includes the typical suite of features that business users expect, it also has the multimedia chops to take off its tie and run consumer applications after hours. The bulk and weight (nearly 3kg) make it unsuitable for frequent travellers (unless you’re doing regular longhaul flights that may make the extended super-long-life battery worth investing in). If you intend to work desk-bound with a dock, only moving down the hall to the meeting room, or carting your laptop home at the end of the day, this is going to give you the best value for money by far.

As you can see, it's a packed notebook and one that should appeal to demanding users who require lots of processing power both in the office and while out on a job. It's a well built machine that feels sturdy and it has a wide array of useful features. We had a problem with the space bar on our test model, but we're hoping that's an anomaly.

The HP EliteBook 8560w provides fantastic workstation performance and a gorgeous 1080p display in an attractive and durable package. However, we highly recommend a pre-configured model to our pricey configuration. Some may prefer the Lenovo ThinkPad W520 workstation because it offers much longer battery life along with a better pointing stick. But if you want a more modern design and better audio quality to go along with your muscle, the EliteBook 8560w is a smart choice.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

AMD Radeon HD 6470M: Einsteiger-Mittelklasse Grafikkarte mit Codenamen Seymore XT.

Diese Grafikkarten sollten alle modernen Spiele flüssig darstellen können. Anspruchsvolle Spiele müssen jedoch in mittlerer Detailstufe gespielt werden. Ältere und weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie die Sims Serie können auch in hohen Detailsstufen flüssig dargestellt werden.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850: Die HD 5850 ist eine High-End Grafikkarte und basiert auf die Desktop HD 5770 und ist eine um 11% langsamer getaktete Mobility 587. Nur mit GDDR5 wird der 128 Bit Speicherbus nicht zum Flaschenhals. Erste Benchmarks einer 5850 mit DDR3 zeigen lediglich eine Performance zwischen GTS250M und GTX260M.

15.6: 15 Zoll Display-Varianten sind der Standard und werden für fast die Hälfte aller Notebooks verwendet. Notebook-Displays im 15 Zoll-Format sind der Standard schlechthin. 15.4 Zoll ist meist die genaue Größeneinheit für 16:10 Notebooks, während 15.6 Zoll ein Indiz für das Format 16:9 sind. Der Grund der Beliebtheit mittelgrosser Displays ist, dass diese Größe einigermaßen augenschonend ist und dennoch nicht allzu viel Strom verbraucht und die Geräte noch halbwegs kompakt sein können.

Dieses Notebook ist etwas leichter als der Durchschnitt aller Notebooks. Für Subnotebooks ist das bereits zu schwer. 14 Zoll Displays passen in diesen Gewichtsbereich.

Dieser Laptop ist überdurchschnittlich schwer, verglichen mit dem Durchschnitt der Notebooks. Deshalb wird diese Gewichtsklasse vor allem von Desktop Replacements mit 17 Zoll Display bevölkert.

80.63%: Diese Bewertung muss man eigentlich als durchschnittlich ansehen, denn es gibt etwa ebenso viele Notebooks mit besseren Beurteilungen wie Schlechteren. Die Verbalbeurteilungen klingen aber oft besser als sie wirklich sind, denn richtig gelästert wird über Notebooks eher selten. Obwohl dieser Bereich offiziell meist einem "Befriedigen" entspricht, passt oft eher "mäßiger Durchschnitt".
