Just as before, the new Aspire V17 Nitro Black Edition offers great value for the asking price. It’s thin, it’s relatively light, it’s sturdy and has a great keyboard with little setbacks. The touchpad, on the other hand, appeared to be a big disappointment. The last couple of models we tested from Acer featured great touchpads but the new Aspire V15 and V17 Nitro notebooks are nowhere near what we are used to. The trackpad often skips, it’s unpredictable and sometimes jiggles around without lifting your finger from the surface. We suspect that this is a software issue but we cannot confirm this. Two out of two models that we’ve tested had this problem and were all tested using the latest drivers and BIOS versions.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M: Schnelle Grafikkarte der Performance-Klasse aus der GeForce-GTX-900M-Baureihe.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
