EN→DEThe ThinkPad Carbon series has always been one of my favourites. It’s never a laptop I’ve considered buying, because it’s quite so expensive. This is an ultra-portable PC that seems ideal for business types who can either buy the thing on a company credit card, or write off part of the substantial cost as a business expense. That may seem unfair when you can spend more on a MacBook Pro, but this is really closer to a MacBook Air in terms of purpose, design and power. There’s nothing awry here bar from the high cost, though, and perhaps the smaller-than-average touchpad. The quality of the pad, as everything else here, is beyond reproach though.

We look at the both the anniversary edition and the X1 Carbon 10th gen standard models for this review. This 14” laptop is one of the thinnest and lightest on the market, yet it maintains a good selection of ports, including Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, HDMI and a headphone jack. It has Intel 12th gen P series Alder Lake 28 watt processors, up to 32GB RAM, 7 16:10 display options (touch and non-touch, FHD, 2.8K and 4K) and optional 4G/5G.

Some of its scores were near top of the pack, while others, especially gaming, were a middling showing. While you can run some lower end games and more casual titles, don't expect this machine to replace your dedicated gaming device. It's primarily a business class ultralight after all. In terms of thermals, the X1 Carbon stays relatively cool under normal conditions, and is even bearable to have on your lap under a full work load. When under that full load, the laptop is relatively quiet as well, with an unoffensive fan pitch. In short, you will not be disappointed if you opt for the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 for your next laptop for business, home or school. Its high quality build should provide for many years of use, and you are getting all this machine's extra features, such its Trackpoint, 1080p webcam, reasonably good port options (sans the missing nano SIM or microSD card slot) and its fantastic keyboard.

Das Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon G10 ist die zehnte Generation der X1 Carbon-Reihe. Im Vergleich zum ersten Modell hat sich viel getan, aber das ThinkPad X1 Carbon G10 ist kein großes Update im Vergleich zum ThinkPad X1 Carbon G9. Der Fokus liegt eindeutig auf dem Innenleben und den neuen Prozessoren der Alder Lake P28 Serie von Intel. Es gibt auch die U15-Serie, die eine geringere Kernanzahl hat. Es unterstützt die vPro-Enterprise-Funktionen und verfügt über 16 GB RAM, eine 512-GB-SSD und einen FHD-Bildschirm mit niedrigem Stromverbrauch. Die Systemleistung ist gut, bei der täglichen Browser-Nutzung gibt es keine Probleme. Lenovo verwendet das gleiche Gehäusedesign seit mindestens zwei Generationen. Da das ThinkPad X1 Carbon G9 ein großes Redesign war, ist das X1 Carbon G10 ein Update, das das alte Design beibehält. Es ist ein ausgereiftes Gehäuse für den täglichen Gebrauch. Das X1 Carbon hat ein klassisches ThinkPad-Design und ist in echtem Schwarz gehalten.
Trotz des kompakten Gehäuses bietet das ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2022 Thunderbolt 4 zusammen mit herkömmlichen Anschlüssen wie USB A und HDMI. Die Intel Wireless AX211 (2x2) wurde als neue Option im Vergleich zu seinem Vorgänger hinzugefügt. Anders als das AX201 unterstützt das AX211 den neuen Standard WiFi 6E. Das X1 Carbon 2022 bietet die meisten der typischen Business-Features wie dTPM 2.0, einen Kensington Lock Slot und einen Fingerabdruckleser. Wenn es um Laptop-Kameras geht, gibt es normalerweise nichts Besonderes zu berichten, aber beim Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon G10 ist die Webcam ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Unterhaltung. Lenovo hat die Akkukapazität nicht verändert und das Gerät mit demselben 57-Wh-Akku ausgestattet. Der Karton und die Umverpackung bestehen erstmals komplett aus Papier. Lenovo hat die Verwendung von Plastik in der Verpackung minimiert. Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass das Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon G10 ein robustes und dennoch leichtes Notebook ist. Es verfügt über gute Anschlussmöglichkeiten und sehr gute Eingabegeräte, was es zu einem großartigen Gerät macht. Daher eignet es sich für Berufstätige, die ein Alltagsgerät zum Surfen oder Arbeiten unterwegs benötigen.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
