Copilot+ laptops are excellent across the board. Microsoft’s strict hardware requirements ensure every device is competitive. The so-called Appleization of Windows isn’t without its critics, but the performance benefits are hard to argue with. By putting all the major manufacturers on equal footing, Copilot+ has turned the market into a battle of inches between brands. The 2026 Zenbook S14 (UX5406A) is yet another example of Asus pulling ahead by miles. While some of its competitors are going all-in on novelty screens and preinstalled AI tools, Asus has focused solely on build quality and style. The result is elegant, reliable, high-performance laptops that are certain to turn heads. I’ve handled more laptops in my life than I care to admit. What most of them have in common is that they’re unremarkable. To stand out, a device needs a memorable design: sleek like a MacBook, iconic like a ThinkPad, or bewildering like a Toshiba Qosmio. The Zenbook S14 is the second Asus laptop I’ve tried this year, and I greeted it with an “oh, hello there, beautiful” when I opened the box. A reaction that I was sure would be limited to the ExpertBook Ultra.

The Asus Zenbook S 14 (2026) is a brilliant compact Windows laptop with solid performance, excellent battery life and a gorgeous OLED screen. It’s also got a functional port selection, a comfortable keyboard and grown-up looks. Just watch out for meagre graphical horsepower and a higher price tag. As beefy as the Core Ultra 9 386H processor inside is, it’s not as potent as the Core X7 358H inside the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro, with its beefier integrated graphics that make Samsung’s laptop a stronger choice for more graphically intense tasks. At a similar price tag is also the Asus Zenbook Duo (2026), complete with Core Ultra X9 388H and two 14-inch OLED touchscreens for the ultimate creative package. 80% I spent days with the new Asus ZenBook S16. Here’s what I think about the premium notebook

The 16-inch Asus ZenBook S16 looks different, has a stunning OLED display (it’s a touchscreen too), features a fairly capable new AMD processor, and comes with an excellent keyboard. These qualities make the ZenBook S16 one of the top mainline premium Windows notebooks on the market. However, as a consumer, you should also be aware that it is a marginal upgrade over the ZenBook S16 I reviewed in 2024. Modest year-over-year upgrades to laptops, much like smartphones, are a reality, and we should accept that by now. If you are in the market for a new laptop and have a higher budget earmarked for a Windows machine, you can certainly consider the new ZenBook S16. But don’t ignore the competition from other brands, which also offer very capable laptops. You could also consider the previous-generation ZenBook S16 (2024), which is selling for less.

Rs 1,49,990 is serious money. But so is the Zenbook S16. The OLED screen is genuinely one of the best on any laptop right now. The six-speaker setup sounds better than it has any right to at this thickness. The port spread covers everything without a single dongle. And the fact that a 28W processor runs cool and quiet inside a body this thin still doesn’t fully make sense to me. Where you’ll need to make peace: the 32 GB RAM is soldered—so what you buy is what you live with, but given how RAM prices keep climbing, Asus probably did you a favour locking it in early.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. ist ein großer taiwanesischer Hersteller von Computer-Hardware mit Sitz in Taipeh, gegründet 1989. Unter dem Markennamen Asus fertigt das Unternehmen eine breite Palette von Produkten, darunter Laptops, Desktops, Motherboards, Grafikkarten, Monitore, Smartphones und Netzwerkgeräte, Komplettsysteme und PC-Bauteile für Endkunden.

Unter dem Markennamen ROG (Republic of Gamers) stellt ASUS Gaming-Laptops her, die bei Spielern für ihre leistungsstarken Spezifikationen, dedizierten Grafikkarten, Displays mit hoher Bildwiederholrate und fortschrittlichen Kühlsystemen bekannt sind.

Über das Gaming hinaus werden eine breite Palette von Notebooks für unterschiedliche Anforderungen und Budgets geboten: von ultraschlanken und leichten Ultrabooks bis hin zu vielseitigen 2-in-1-Convertibles und budgetfreundlichen Optionen. 2023 hatte Asus einen Weltmarktanteil von 7% am PC-Markts.

Die Kundenzufriedenheit mit ASUS-Notebooks betrifft Leistung, die Funktionen und das gute Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis der ASUS-Notebooks. Wie bei jeder Marke gibt es jedoch gelegentlich Berichte über Probleme wie Überhitzung, Treiberkompatibilität oder Probleme mit der Verarbeitungsqualität.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

Intel Intel Graphics 4 Xe3 PTL: Die Intel Graphics 4 Xe3 ist eine integrierte Grafikkarte in Panther Lake SoCs mit 4 Xe3 Kernen (32 EUs / 512 ALUs), 4 Raytracing Kernen und einer Taktung von bis zu 2450 MHz.

AMD Radeon 890M: Starke RDNA3+ basierende integrierte Grafikkarte (iGPU) mit 16 Compute Units (= 1024 Unified Shader) und einer Taktung von bis zu 2,9 GHz.

Intel Panther Lake:

Ultra 9 386H: High-End 16-Kern SoC der Panther Lake Familie und Spitzenmodell mit 4 Xe3 GPU-Kernen. Die verbaute NPU 5 bietet wie bei Lunar Lake 50 TOPS und bietet nun Unterstützung für FP8. Die CPU unterstützt vPro Management Features.

AMD Strix / Gorgon Point:

Ryzen AI 9 HX 470: Der Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 ist ein schneller Gorgon Point Prozessor für Notebooks welcher in 2026 vorgestellt wurde. Technisch ist es ein höher getakteter Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 und integriert 12 CPU Kerne, 4 basierend auf die neue Zen 5 Architektur und 8 kleinere Zen 5c basierende Kerne (mit weniger Cache). Weiters integriert der Chip eine schnelle 55 TOPS XDNA 2 Neural Engine für AI Beschleunigung und eine schnelle 16 CU RDNA 3+ GPU.

16.00: Dieser Bereich für Displayformate war und ist eine Seltenheit. Es ist größer als der allgemeine Standard von 15 Zoll, aber noch nicht im Bereich der großen Workstations. Man hat üblicherweise höhere Bildschirmauflösungen zur Verfügung, darunter leidet aber auch die Portabilität.
