Das hätte dem Wettbewerb und den diesbezüglichen Innovationen vielleicht gutgetan. Leider ist Huawei an dieser Herkulesaufgabe gescheitert. Das Huawei Pura 80 Ultra mag oberflächlich ein ansprechendes Smartphone sein - abgesehen vom Design. Es hat eine der besten Smartphone-Kameras und ein ordentliches Display zu bieten. Aber schon beim Prozessor hinkt es der Konkurrenz deutlich hinterher. Software und App-Ökosystem hat Huawei komplett vermasselt. Wenn man sich den Smartphone-Alltag absichtlich schwer machen und Steine in den Weg legen will, dann sollte man zu einem Huawei-Handy greifen.

Und diese bringt das Huawei Pura 80 Ultra durch den fehlenden 5G-Empfang und den Mittelklasse-Chip mit. Inzwischen ist immerhin das „Google-Problem“ durch MicroG weitestgehend gelöst, wobei nur das fehlende Google Wallet im Test gestört hat. Unabhängig von der Frage nach einer Kaufempfehlung zeigt der Test aber eines: Huawei fehlt auf dem europäischen Markt. Sucht ihr nach einem Gerät, das mit dieser Kamera-Qualität mithalten kann, werdet ihr nur bei den Import-Smartphones Vivo X200 Ultra (zum Test) oder Oppo Find X8 Ultra (zum Test) fündig. Hierzulande sind das Xiaomi 15 Ultra (zum Test) und das Google Pixel 10 Pro (zum Test) zu nennen, die jedoch beide nicht ganz an das Huawei Pura 80 Ultra heranreichen.

Qualcomm Maleoon 920: Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, integriert im HiSilicon Kirin 9020. Leider stellt Huawei keine detaillierten Informationen zur Verfügung. Sicher ist, dass sie kein hardwarebasiertes Raytracing und nur den älteren Vulkan 1.0 Standard unterstützt. 

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
