Das LG G Pad 7.0 hat mich im Test absolut überzeugt und ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen für alle, die ein günstiges, aber hochwertiges Tablet kaufen möchten und dabei auf mobiles Internet verzichten können, wenn kein WLAN-Hotspot zur Verfügung steht. Das Design ist edel und modern, die Verarbeitung sehr hochwertig. Das LG G Pad 7.0 glänzt vor allem mit der sehr gut angepassten und mit ihren Funktionen überzeugenden Software, die ich schon beim LG G2 oder G3 liebte, ohne dass sie das Tablet überfrachtet hätten; besonders bei Samsung ein häufiger Kritikpunkt.

The G Pad 7.0 is a decent choice if you're seeking portability in a tablet. It's about the size of a book and is therefore easy to slip into your bag. While it maintains parity with the G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 in some respects, the lower internal memory and weaker main camera make it a less appealing prospect, purely when it comes to specifications. To be brutally honest, the 8.0 model is only slightly larger and doesn't cost a great deal more – it's arguably the smarter choice, even if it's not quite as portable.

The LG G Pad 7.0 is not the kind of tablet that’s going to get pulses racing. It’s a low-cost device, and there are signs of that, particularly in its screen. However, it also gets you a bunch of features not often seen in smaller tablets. The IR transmitter gives it lounge skills missing from the Nexus 7, multi-tasking is given a lot of promotion for a tablet this small and it can pair with your phone for extra notifications juice.

The G Pad 7.0 is a solid enough tablet product, but simultaneously feels like a disappointment compared to last year's G Pad success. It's not going to steal the Nexus 7 crown by any means, but that's to compare it against the wrong rank. In the world of Asus MeMo Pad 7 and Tesco Hudl the LG G Pad 7.0 holds its own. It's a solid product that would make a decent coffee-table tablet for the whole family.

The LG G Pad 7.0 makes a few compromises to achieve its low price, but overall it's a pretty good bargain. The tablet boasts a vivid 1280 x 800 screen, outstanding audio quality and epic battery life, all for the very reasonable cost of $150. However, LG did make some trade-offs to hit this budget price: Photos and videos look grainy and washed out, and the tablet delivers middling performance compared with other 7-inch slates.

The LG G Pad 7.0 doesn't do a lot to stand out from the crowded field of small-screen tablets, but some unique and useful software features coupled with an aggressive price give it a leg up on competitors. Spec for spec, it's the Galaxy Tab 4's equal, but Samsung charges $50 more, and I'd argue LG's software execution is superior. The G Pad 7.0 offers great value if you can deal with relatively modest performance and a simply average display. Our Editors' Choice for small screen tablets remains the Google Nexus 7, which has a sharper full HD panel and stock Android experience with guaranteed timely updates.

Any way you look at the G Pad 7.0 it's hard to find much to frown at. Not much to get excited about either - after all the Nexus 7 had the exact same specs two years ago. 7-inchers have since been trying to beat Google's price without making too much compromise. Well, they're finally getting there. HD resolution on a 7" diagonal is the new entry level in tablets, at still a safe distance from Apple and with no dime-a-dozen WSVGA devices from white label manufacturers crowding the space. If you're shopping for your first tablet, the LG G Pad 7.0 is very much an option but so are a bunch of tablets from of Samsung, Acer, Asus and Huawei.

LG platziert einige verschiedene Tablets am Tablet-Markt. Das G Pad 7.0 ist das kleinste Modell ihrer aktuellen Produktlinie und richtet sich an budgetbewusste Endverbraucher. Es verfügt über einen 7-Zoll-IPS-Bildschirm mit einer nativen Auflösung von 1280 x 800. Die Auflösung ist nichts Besonders, doch auf einem 7-Zoll Bildschirm sieht sie nicht allzu schlecht aus. Dank IPS-Technologie sind die Blickwinkel gut und die Farben schön.

Das Tablet wird durch einen 1,2 GHz Quad-Core-Prozessor und 1 GB RAM angetrieben. Das Snapdragon 400 Chipset bietet ausreichend Leistung für normale Verwendung. Der Mangel an RAM ist für Multitasking nicht hilfreich, doch normales Web-Surfen und Standard-Apps laufen ausreichend gut. Allerdings ist es nicht möglich, qualitativ hochwertige 3D-Games zu spielen.

Das LG verfügt über 8 GB Speicher. Das ist nicht viel, doch machbar. Es gibt eine 3.15 MP Kamera an der Rückseite und eine 1.3 MP Kamera an der Vorderseite. Das Markenzeichen der Optimus Benutzerschnittstelle, nämlich Knock-to-Unlock, ist verfügbar. Während das LG G Pad 7.0 die Konkurrenz nicht umwerfen wird, ist es durchaus eine leistbare Option, die man in Betracht ziehen kann.

3D Spiele sind auf diesen Vertretern nur in Ausnahmen spielbar, grundsätzlich sind die Grafiklösungen hierfür jedoch nicht geeignet. Office Programme und Internet surfen dürfte jedoch ohne Problem möglich sein.
