While NXTPAPER technology is a great idea and the TCL NXTPAPER 10s is a noble effort, unfortunately there’s no use case where it’s a better option than the alternatives. While it might reduce eye strain, the dim, murky and washed-out image means it’s frustrating to use, whatever the task. If you’re primarily interested in reading books, then you’ll find an e-Ink device like the Kindle Paperwhite is sharper, clearer and easier to read – with the added benefits of easy library access and extended battery life. If you’re primarily interested in consuming multimedia, then you’d benefit from the improved brightness, contrast and overall picture quality of a normal tablet. For $499 you’ll find pretty decent Android tablets, while a few more dollars gets you into iPad territory. If you’re primarily interested in a note-taking device, then you’d be better off with a tablet that supports an active stylus and a better keyboard cover.

But the TCL Nxtpaper 10s tries a different approach. Rather than release another tablet designed to do everything reasonably well, TCL created a device that’s primed for writing and reading, with a coated screen that makes jotting down notes and scribbling with a stylus feel more like putting pen to real paper. There’s something to it—but in my testing, the benefits were modest. The drawbacks, however, were much more significant as the dim, muddled-looking display is a poor fit for most other everyday tablet needs.

Dimensity 7400X: Der Dimensity 7400X ist ein Mittelklasse-Prozessor mit integriertem 5G Modem. Der CPU-Teil integriert vier ARM Cortex-A78 Kerne mit bis zu 2,6 GHz und vier Stromsparkerne vom Typ Cortex-A55 mit bis zu 2 GHz. Im Vergleich zum älteren 7300X, sind die A78 Kerne um 100 MHz höher getaktet. Der SoC wird im modernen 4nm Prozess gefertigt. Im Vergleich zum Dimensity 7300, ist der 7300X für mehrere Displays (Foldable) gedacht.

Helio P60T: ARM-basierter Octa-Core-SoC (4x Cortex-A73, 4x Cortex-A53) mit 64-Bit-Unterstützung und bis zu 2 GHz Taktrate für Smartphones und Tablets. Integriert eine ARM Mali-G72 MP3 mit bis zu 800 MHz.

Helio G99: ARM-basierter Octa-Core-SoC (2x Cortex-A76, 6x Cortex-A55) mit 64-Bit-Unterstützung und bis zu 2,2 GHz Taktrate für Smartphones und Tablets. Integriert ein Cat-13 4G LTE Modem. Im Unterschied zum MediaTek Helio G96, wird der G99 im moderneren 6nm Prozess gefertigt und taktet höher.
Helio G100: ARM-basierter Octa-Core-SoC (2x Cortex-A76, 6x Cortex-A55) mit 64-Bit-Unterstützung und bis zu 2,2 GHz Taktrate für Smartphones und Tablets. Integriert ein Cat-13 4G LTE Modem. Im Unterschied zum MediaTek Helio G96, wird der G99 im moderneren 6nm Prozess gefertigt und taktet höher.
Mediatek Dimensity 6000:
Dimensity 6300: Die CPU arbeitet insgesamt mit acht Kernen, welche sich in zwei Cluster unterteilen. Der eine besitzt zwei ARM Cortex-A76-Leistungskerne mit jeweils bis zu 2,4 GHz, der andere sechs ARM Cortex-A55-Energiesparkerne mit jeweils bis zu 2,0 GHz. Als Arbeitsspeicher kann LPDDR4x-RAM mit 2.133 MHz verwendet werden, als interner Speicher wird UFS 2.2 unterstützt.
